An archive photo MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – The Smart Patent 2018 fair of innovative ideas will open in a solemn ceremony in Minsk on 4 December. Over two days the best ideas and solutions of domestic companies and teams will be presented at an exposition in the Palace of Arts. The fair will also feature seminars and a youth scientific forum, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Minsk City Council. The forum will introduce visitors to new solutions across a variety of fields: medicine, manufacturing technology, chemistry and Earth science, energy, information technology and biotechnology. Free events will gather steam at a museum to help inspire budding engineers and scientists. As part of the Government’s Year of Engineering the National Railway Museum in York, is hosting themed events during half term, until November 4. Among headlining performers this year, is award-winning science presenter, author and rapper Jon Chase who returns for a second year, to treat audiences to live hip-hop that covers everything from steam to science and space travel. Two Norwich students have been submitted to run for a national science award.Mia Dale and Kirsty Wong, who are both students at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, have been nominated for a National Gold Crest Award and will be running for the national Young Scientist of the year competition.The girls were allocated real research projects after they completed research placements at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).They investigated the incidence of type 2 diabetes in patients with giant cell arteritis and analysed changing trends in biologics prescribing for axial spondyloarthritis.
