GARETH SOUTHGATE's England have surpassed all expectations in Russia. Before a ball was kicked there was a real fear that the Three Lions would crash out early and it would be the same old story - but their run to the semis has seen the country fall in love with international football again. BECOMING a pilot is the dream job of many people – but it now seems like working in air traffic control could be even better. One Reddit thread reveals some surprising perks of the job – including mandatory retirement at the young age of 56. A US air traffic controller posted about openings for positions in the US and sang the praises of their career path. They said: “I can’t stress enough how amazing this job is. The "biggest-ever" funding plan to fix Auckland's transport network will be unveiled by the Government and Auckland Council on Thursday. It'll include funding for two major roading projects - Mill Rd in the south and Penlink in the north - as well as boosts to public transport. "We've had a decade or longer of underinvestment," Auckland Mayor Phil Goff told The AM Show. "You can't keep growing your population at a rate faster than almost any other developed city in the world, then not put the money into infrastructure to make sure people can get around it. In reality, mass disruption, pollution and a divide between the city centre and its suburbs make the Périphérique a headache for motorists, nearby residents, and city planners.
