If you've been on Google today, you may have noticed it has one of its famous Doodles splashed across the homepage. And you could be forgiven for thinking the Doodle is just like any other as it celebrates an anniversary or the life of someone famous. However, today's Doodle is anything but ordinary as it honours a US teenager who won a national drawing competition with a touching image of familial love and gratitude. Georgia-based Arantza Peña Popo was announced as the winner of the 2019 Doodle for Google on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night, with an illustration called 'Once you get it, give it back'. Matt Cruikshank, a Google Doodle artist since 2012, said the company has been contacted by teachers who have used Doodles as part of school lessons and been the subject of petitions from users asking for specific designs. Google Doodles are illustrative and sometimes animated changes made to the Google logo on the search engines home page, often to celebrate the lives of famous artists, scientists and pioneers as well as major events and anniversaries. The reason behind Jordan Pickford's appearance in the 1996 European Championship England goalkeeper kit has been revealed. Pickford, who is Everton and England's number one after recording 14 clean sheets in the Premier League this season on the back of an impressive World Cup campaign last summer, was photographed in the classic 'Skittles' jersey worn by David Seaman during the tournament. James O'Mara, working alongside Classic Football Shirts - who currently have a pop-up shop open at Albert Dock - told the ECHO the opportunity presented itself by chance during a recent meeting at Finch Farm. "I did the illustration at Classic Football Shirts, where I work, during the World Cup, we were doing some of the England players in classic and memorable kits of the past as they were doing so well," O'Mara told the ECHO.
