The words of New Zealand prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, resonate around the globe in the aftermath of the Christchurch tragedy, which saw 50 people murdered by a right-wing terrorist at a local mosque. Her political leadership in the aftermath of the incident has been truly admirable. Amongst other measures, Ms Ardern has initiated moves to reform the country’s gun laws with speed. A local resident raised the question recently of why we cannot move with the same urgency to ban the sale of weapons such as “Zombie” knives here. I attended several vigils following the attack, including a service in Stratford organised by local councillors, attended by people from a wide range of faiths and communities across Newham. Reading must shackle Hull City's wingers to have any chance of getting a result this weekend. That's the verdict of Tigers reporter Phil Buckingham at Hull Live , ahead of Saturday's Championship encounter at the KCOM Stadium (3pm kick-off). Nigel Adkins' side have defied the odds this season and go into the game with a play-off spot still a possibility after an impressive run of results. The video shows the incredible 360 view that you are treated to from the top of the control tower at the region's airport. East Midland Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower, potentially the best view in the region, celebrated its 20th birthday this week. It was built in 1999 when it replaced the old tower which had been there since the airport opened in 1965. At a cost of £3.5m it was, at the time, the third tallest ATC tower in the country after towers at London Stansted and Luton airport. Today it ranks as the 4th tallest in the UK. The stunning view shows in the distance the town of Castle Donington in all its glory as well as a wide view of the airfield showing aircrafts coming up and down, DerbyshireLive reports. It was taken from the very top of East Midland Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower which this week celebrates it’s 20th birthday. Built in 1999, at a cost of £3.5m it was, at the time, the third tallest ATC tower in the country after towers at London Stansted and Luton airport. Today it ranks as the 4th tallest in the UK. A View from the Edge features the work of eight artists and three poets who have all been looking over the metaphorical ‘edge’, examining what our futures might hold by trying to understand the past. The subject is tackled in a variety of styles and mediums and features multimedia work and installations alongside more traditional paintings.The exhibition features work from artists who are part of SunderlandINDIE, an artists’ collective for the people of Sunderland.
