There are lots of things women need to do to prepare physically and emotionally for giving birth. From eating healthily, to pelvic floor muscle exercises and breathing techniques - there all kinds of considerations. Many women opt to groom their pubic hair these days, whether it's by waxing or shaving, and some opt to do so ahead of giving birth. But a midwife has shared her wisdom with BabyCentre UK on why you shouldn't shave or wax before giving birth - and there's a very good reason for it. Dr Cate Bell, a practising midwife in Sussex and a hypnobirthing practitioner, said: "Our current advice is that you don't shave or wax your pubic area just prior to giving birth "This increases your risk of an infection especially if you have an operative procedure like a Caesarean section". This is because shaving and waxing actually cause micro-abrasions on the skin's surface which can become infected - which is not something you want to be worrying about if you're about to have a baby. Why shaving pubic hair is good
SO yesterday I lost the ability to allow horrible, hate-fuelled comments to fly over my head. Although I wish I could have ignored the comments, I don’t regret calling out the behaviour of a publication that I refuse to name again so as not to give them one more ounce of publicity that they may thrive off, no matter how negative. As I looked at myself on the front of the glossy magazine, I was unable to un-see the enormous bold letters that said: “Desperate, boring and cheap,” followed by, “and why fans are sick of her”. On another page they’re claiming fans are fed up of a woman (me) posing in pictures without airbrushing and saying she’s proud of her body and doesn’t fuss about body hair - all things I wrote about in my recent columns. I know many people will say these kinds of remarks are part and parcel of the industry I am in and I should just ignore it. Most of the time I am able to adopt this mentality, and I work hard to look … [Read more...] about Stacey Solomon: Calling me desperate and cheap for being proud of my body is dangerous… and fans are sick of YOU, not me
Lots of women choose to get rid of their hair down there. In fact, 96 per cent of women have at least once - a study of 2,000 women by shaving brand Gilette says. What's more, over half of women opt to ENTIRELY remove their pubic hair, according to a poll by Cosmopolitan . But what's the best way to do it? There's no shortage of options out there, and shaving, waxing, laser removal are just some of the methods available to choose from. Although shaving may save you pricey trips to beauty salons and a LOT of pain, it turns out that it's actually bad for your health - here's why it's time to ditch the razor. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists told the Sun that having at least some pubic hair is important as it forms a natural barrier between your skin and bacteria. Removing it by shaving actually irritates the skin - leaving the area much more prone to infections such as the dreaded thrush. They said: "Pubic hair also prevents foreign particles like dust and … [Read more...] about Why you should never shave your bikini line
WHETHER you're welcoming the weekend in style or marking a landmark achievement, most people only tend to whip out a bottle of champers for a special occasion. But from the same woman who brought us the peeled potato beauty hack, there now comes the most ridiculous waste of champagne we've ever seen... Yes, Instagram star Madina Shrienzada has shared an outrageous video in which she rinses her hair with a bottle of champagne. While we typically purchase whatever shampoo and conditioner is on offer in our local Superdrug, this online beauty guru claims champagne "tames frizz" and gives her hair "an extra little vamp of shine." Considering the waste of perfectly good champers, we should hope it does. Filming a step-by-step tutorial for her 290,000 Instagram followers, Madina starts by sectioning luscious locks into four different pony tails before soaking them in a bottle of champagne. After pouring herself a glass (because why not?), Madina gradually pours the fizz over her … [Read more...] about Washing your hair with CHAMPAGNE is the most bonkers beauty craze on Instagram right now…but is just throwing money down the drain?
REMEMBER Ross and Rachel’s sweet baby Emma from Friends? The infant was actually played by a set of identical twins who are now grown up and about to star in a horror film. Cali and Noelle Sheldon played the role of Emma and they recently turned 16 – how old does that make you feel?! To celebrate the milestone they posted sweet messages to each other on social media with Cali calling her sister her “soul mate” and “bestie”. They first appeared as the child of Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer’s characters on the show in 2003, and starred until the sitcom ended a year later. Since their Friends role, they have kept busy with a number of roles in short films, and their latest casting looks very interesting indeed. Cali and Noelle have been cast in their first feature film called Us, which is a horror thriller starring Elizabeth Moss, Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke.
