Mercedes dominance has KILLED what F1 is all about and Lewis Hamilton’s endless wins are boring, slams Haas team owner
THE DOMINANT Mercedes engine has 'killed' Formula One's competitive foundation, Gene Haas has claimed. The 68-year-old and owner of the Haas team believes that races have become stale during the hybrid era, which has seen Mercedes claim seven consecutive drivers' and constructors' titles. Lewis Hamilton romped to the world championship in 2020 and is heavy favourite to do so again this year. Potential challengers Ferrari, who supply much of the Haas car, have floundered of late, starving the car of power and aiding the Mercs' hegemony. Haas told Racer : "In 2020 when Ferrari had a reduction in their horsepower, it was pretty obvious that all of the Ferrari engine cars had horsepower deficits compared to Mercedes, Honda and Renault. Germany’s special forces look the other way on missing weapons
Brigadier General Markus Kreitmayr came up with an unlikely option early last year. The head of the KSK, a German special forces unit, told his troops they could return any weapons and munitions they had made off with — anonymously and without fear of consequences. It had already become known that a large number of weapons had gone missing. Less clear was whether that was due to an inventory error or if KSK members had intentionally taken them, which would be a criminal offense. Kreitmayr's offer was well received. At least 25,000 rounds of ammunition were anonymously returned between March and May 2020, according to the Bundestag's Defense Committee, which was only recently informed about the initiative. Hand grenades were among the returned arms. The missing weapons went unmentioned in a preliminary report on KSK reform, presented by General Eberhard Zorn KSK and far-right extremism The KSK, based in south-western Germany, has been under close watch since incidents … [Read more...] about Germany’s special forces look the other way on missing weapons
Love Island’s Laura Anderson sobs over losing jobs and fans over Dubai backlash
Laura Anderson has broken down over losing followers and jobs for flying to Dubai in the midst of the pandemic. The former Love Island star, 31, was targeted by furious fans when she documented her luxurious trip to the sandy city of the United Arab Emirates on social media in January. The reality TV star was even forced to turn off comments on her Instagram uploads as the abuse continued to escalate. Laura travelled to Dubai when the UK still had a travel bridge in place. And when the strict travel ban emerged, Laura insisted that she was back home before the UK government implemented the new rules. Although she technically abided by the guidelines, the Scottish native has faced an onslaught of abuse and criticism, and in turn, she has lost a huge number of followers. Lifting the lid on the lasting effects of the scandal, Laura sobbed as she told The Sun that she struggled to cope with the intense trolling. “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with,” … [Read more...] about Love Island’s Laura Anderson sobs over losing jobs and fans over Dubai backlash
