Mukesh Ambani, one of the richest men in the world and India's top billionaire did not take any salary or allowance from his company in 2021 and 2022, reported local Indian media. Up until 2020, for 15 years the industrialist drew an annual package of INR150 million including salary, commissions, and allowances. However, when the pandemic hit, the industrialist avoided financial remuneration and did not take a dime from his company despite being the chairman and managing director, reported Times of India. In addition to that, the elder Ambani kept his salary the same for 15 years to set an example for entrepreneurs and top managerial employees in the company. The former Manchester United star and ex-Wales manager, 48, is on trial accused of controlling behaviour and assaulting Kate Greville and her younger sister Emma. During cross-examination, she told Manchester Crown Court: "He made me feel like I had to do what he said otherwise there were consequences". He has denied all the charges. Ms Greville agreed she made a number of witness statements to police following the alleged assault in November 2020, including two in the last week. South Canterbury woman journey from ‘too busy’ to volunteer co-ordinator
Juliana Sargeant always thought she was too busy to volunteer. But when the South Canterbury woman saw first-hand the importance of volunteering, after she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, she decided to get involved. In the past few weeks, volunteers and the vital work they do has been celebrated in South Canterbury with two events. Joining in the celebrations was Sargeant, now a South Canterbury Plunket co-ordinator, who shared her story to the 50 attendees at Volunteering Mid and South Canterbury’s 15-year-anniversary event.
