Unfortunately for the viewers who sat through all three hours of NBC's self-congratulatory slog, the Emmys' parade of "SNL" talent wasn't enough to save the awards show – and provided an unfortunate reminder that the glory days of the once-vaunted variety show have long since passed. Preliminary ratings for the 70th Primetime Emmys, in 56 top markets, fell 10% from last year, to another all-time low, amid a sharp downward trend for all awards shows. US comics gave the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a right Royal ribbing on TV last night. Saturday Night Live featured a sketch from inside the evening wedding reception as Harry — dubbed "Ron Sleazley" — introduces the guests. Actor Mikey Day gave his best attempt at an English accent to play uniformed Harry giving a 2am tour of Frogmore House in the grounds of Windsor Castle. Introducing his guests, he stumbles upon an "uncle" of Meghan Markle chatting up The Queen, played by Kate McKinnon. Referring to the Netflix show, the uncle says: "Harry, I was just telling your grandma here that she should watch The Crown, cus they make her look like a b**** on that show!" Harry then moves on to find a drunk Kate Middleton, who says: "For the past six year's I've been pregnant, so I'm going hard tonight." The stars showered Dec with praise, describing his performance as a "masterclass in professionalism." Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine said: "Dec, you are just brilliant." DECLAN Donnelly was seen getting a big hug from his pregnant wife Ali Astall after hosting Saturday Night Takeaway without Ant McPartlin last night. Fans had praised the "brave" star after presenting on TV for the first time without his sidekick Ant who was charged with drink-driving earlier this month. Despite not directly mentioning his best friend's absence, Dec joked: “I’ve got twice the amount of work to do.” After finishing the show, he was pictured receiving congratulatory hugs from his proud 40-year-old talent manager wife Ali, who he wed in 2015 after a decade together, as well as other friends. DECLAN Donnelly has told fans he's ready to host Saturday Night Takeaway solo after a snap of the script revealed he's going it alone after Ant McPartlin checked back into rehab. The 42 year old is fronting the show solo for the first time tonight and he declared he's all set after finishing final rehearsals. With around an hour to go before show time, Dec tweeted: "All rehearsals done, your #SaturdayNightTakeaway will be ready in an hour! See you on the telly at 7pm. D x" It came after show bosses shared a picture of the script which confirmed Dec will be hosting solo. Posting the snap online, the show’s official Twitter account stated: “Just a little photo to prove that we don’t just wing it, there is actually a script.” They also shared a snap of Scarlett Moffatt as she was getting ready for the live show.
