Woman, 61, killed in ‘gas blast’ which destroyed her home was on FaceTime to boyfriend at time of explosion

A WOMAN killed in a suspected gas blast that destroyed her home was on FaceTime to her boyfriend at the time of the explosion , an inquest heard. Hazel Wilcock, 61, was found in the rubble of her home in Bury, Greater Manchester, on the evening of February 18. Five others, including a child, were injured in the horror blast. An inquest into Ms Wilcock's death was opened at Rochdale Coroner's Court today. Police coroner's officer Jane Scullion told the court: "Hazel was at her home address and was having a FaceTime call with her partner when an explosion took place, causing the phone to disconnect and cut off. "All emergency services attended the scene. "Ms Wilcock's property was completely destroyed and there was damage to two neighbouring properties. "Ms Wilcock was in a seating position, on the sofa, at the time of the FaceTime call." A BABY and toddler tragically face being orphaned after both their parents were diagnosed with terminal cancer within months of each other. Brit Adam Graveley, 38, met his Australian wife Caitlin, 39, when he went travelling. He managed to secure a good job and they sponsored him to stay and after tying the knot they had two kids. But now the couple, who live in Perth , have both heartbreakingly been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer - just three months apart. They are faced with the devastating prospect of leaving kids Thea, two, and four-month-old Fearn without a mum and dad. Caitlin was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer in November after suffering pain she thought was due to her pregnancy. Virgin Media down – Mobile and TV customers were unable to make calls or watch telly

VIRGIN Media went down for mobile and TV customers this afternoon, leaving them unable to make calls and texts or watch telly. The problem started after midday with around 2,000 users reporting issues on outage tracking website DownDetector at its peak. Of those who reported issues at the time, 48% struggled with mobile internet, 42% with mobile phones and 9% reported TV problems. Complaints appeared about Virgin Media internet too, but the telecoms giant told The Sun it was unaware of problems with its broadband. Virgin Media said there was an issue with its TV and mobile services in Manchester, but says these problems have now been resolved. Hundreds of customers vented their frustrations with the issues on Twitter. One customer said on Twitter: "It’d be nice if Virgin Media’s TV service would run for more than a minute before it cuts out. "Been happening for about 3 hours now." Woman ‘killed and chopped up after being lured to flat above kebab shop by stranger’

A WOMAN was allegedly murdered and chopped up in a flat above a kebab shop after being lured there by a stranger late at night, a court has heard. Azam Mangori, 24, “honed in” on Lorraine Cox, 32, while she walked home after drinking with pals in Exeter, Devon, it is alleged. Jurors at Exeter Crown Court heard how Mangori had sex with Lorraine in an alleyway before taking her to his room in a flat above a kebab shop. It is alleged he then killed her and cut up her body into seven pieces and then kept her remains in his apartment for several days. Mangori, an Iraqi Kurd, admits cutting off Lorraine's arms and legs and disposing of her body parts. But he denies murder. Jurors heard Lorriane had been drinking with friends on Bank Holiday Monday in August last year. Yorkshire Ripper victims’ families demand inheritance share as ex-wife says ‘no comment’

Families ripped apart by one of Britain’s worst serial killers are demanding his estate be shared between them. Mystery surrounds what Peter Sutcliffe has left in his will amid claims he owns two plots of land in Scotland. Sutcliffe boasted that one of the Kray twins offered to buy the land gifted to him by a female admirer while in Broadmoor. But Neil Jackson, 62, whose mum Emily Jackson was Sutcliffe’s second murder victim, says his victims should be given compensation if there are any funds available. And he’s asking the Government to intervene to find out the extent of the killer’s property and funds.
