Facebook has barred accounts tied to Myanmar's military as well as military-controlled media accounts from using its platforms, the social media giant said on Thursday. The ban also includes Facebook ads from military-controlled companies and accounts on Instagram. The company cited the military coup earlier this month as well as the violence against protesters that followed as the reason for the ban. "Events since the February 1 coup, including deadly violence, have precipitated a need for this ban," Facebook said in a statement. "We believe the risks of allowing the Tatmadaw [Myanmar military] on Facebook and Instagram are too great." The ban takes effect immediately. It comes days after Facebook blocked pages run by the army-controlled Myawaddy TV and state broadcaster MRTV. POPULAR children's toys called "squishies" have been banned in Denmark after tests found they contained harmful chemicals. If children inhale these hazardous substances it could cause them breathing problems, and in the long-term can cause fertility and liver damage. The chemical substances also act as cancer causing carcinogens and can irritate your eyes. The foam toys are similar to stress balls and are mostly imported from Japan. A number of different Japanese brands make the toys which tend to be shaped like food or animals. Now, Danish authorities have banned the sale of squishies over fears they could be harmful to children. The Danish Environmental Protection Agency tested 12 products and found that all of them could cause dangerous long and short-term health effects. A "treasured" keepsake box that once belonged to Charles Darwin's daughters has been donated to English Heritage and will go on show later this year. The Victorian red leather box contains shells gathered by Darwin on his famous Beagle voyage, where his observations fostered the ideas that led him to develop his theory of evolution. Darwin's descendants have donated the red leather box and its "treasures" to English Heritage, which will display the object at what was Darwin's home - Down House, in Kent. The naturalist and his wife Emma gave the box to their daughters, who, starting with the eldest, Annie, filled it with family mementos. When Annie died, aged 10 in 1851, the box passed to her sister Henrietta, otherwise known as Etty.
