MEMO to David Cameron’s agent: If your man is going to have any more unscheduled chats with members of the Press, best not to do it when Dave is wearing his running gear. Not a great look for the chick-chick-chicken who bottled Brexit. David Cameron admits he regrets Brexit chaos sparked by his referendum - but still insists he was right to call vote Interrupting his morning jog, our former Prime Minister gave his longest comments yet on the 2016 EU referendum since he deserted his post the morning after the result came in. It was the usual forgettable Cameron waffle, hoping MPs “can come together to find an alternative partnership agreement” with the EU and blah blah blah. What will stick in the mind is the image of Cameron scuttling away after the small talk as fast as his little Old Etonian legs would take him. It reminded the country Cameron is the biggest coward ever to grace British politics. You can say what you like about Theresa May. That most of her … [Read more...] about David Cameron is a headless chicken who legged it after Brexit — which shows how lucky we are to have Theresa May as PM
Where is david cameron today
“I wonder what David Cameron is doing today,” tweeted Anneka Rice on Tuesday. “Cotswold pub lunch? Golf?” The TV and radio presenter is not principally known for her political comment, but it was clear, more than 30,000 likes and 5,000 retweets later, that she had captured something of the public mood. As his successor as prime minister endured an unprecedented drubbing in parliament with the rejection of her deal with the EU, where was the man who had set the Brexit boulder careering downhill in the first place? The answer came the following morning, when Cameron, wearing shorts and warmly tanned from a recent family holiday at a £1,728-a-night resort in Costa Rica, was stopped by reporters on the doorstep of his Notting Hill home. No, he said, he didn’t regret calling the referendum, though he did regret losing it. “And obviously regret the difficulties and the problems we’ve been having trying to implement the result.” And off he … [Read more...] about So what is David Cameron really doing now?
BREXIT had been a spectre on the horizon for years - but became a real possibility when former PM David Cameron announced a referendum. As we continue to rumble towards the exit here are the key dates that have taken us up to where we are now. Cameron’s Bloomberg Speech In January 2013 David Cameron gave what came to be known as the Bloomberg speech. He pledged an in/out referendum if the Conservatives won the 2015 election. The then prime minister said he wanted to renegotiate the UK's relationship with the EU and then give people the "simple choice" between staying in under those new terms, or leaving the EU. Some around Cameron – including George Osborne - are understood to have urged him not to go ahead with the pledge warning that it could have disastrous unintended consequences but he thought it was worth the risk. Tories win a majority in 2015 David Cameron then unexpectedly led the Tories to a majority in 2015. This meant that there was now no way out of agreeing to … [Read more...] about Brexit – the key moments: From David Cameron’s Bloomberg Speech to Lancaster House and Theresa May’s withdrawal deal
DANNY Dyer today reignited his bizarre feud with David Cameron - saying the ex-PM's behaviour is a "f***ing travesty". The EastEnders star hit out at Mr Cameron in a fresh TV interview and blasted: "Let's be straight, where is he?" But he extended an olive branch to the current PM as he said Theresa May is "f***ing useless" but also "lovable in a way". Mr Dyer has previously clashed with Mr Cameron for calling the Brexit vote then resigning straight afterwards. Asked about his first rant in a Sky News programme last night, he said: "I was just a bit humpy that day. "I didn't think it would go as far as that, I thought it was just common knowledge that the man's a f***ing t**t. "He's actually not a t**t, he's a c***, the geezer. Sorry. "It's f***ng just a travesty how he can slip off. Where is though, let's be straight, where is he? Not a f***ing word from the geezer." He was also quizzed on his view of Mrs May - and replied: "Oh for f***'s sake, Theresa May! "Poor bastard she is, … [Read more...] about Danny Dyer restarts bizarre feud with David Cameron calling ex-PM ‘a f***ing travesty and a c***’

This is like the Pope asking the Chief Rabbi on the true meaning of the Eucharist: when Theresa May became Prime Minister she defined herself by defenestrating all things and people of a Cameroonish hue (including, most notoriously – and some would argue most self-destructively – packing Osborne off to the backbenches). But now the former prime minister has become her personal Brexit-crisis adviser, as she desperately tries to prevent the UK crashing out of the EU with a chaotic no deal. His advice is conspicuously being taken, at this juncture by her ministers if not publicly by … [Read more...] about Can David Cameron rescue Theresa May from her Brexit crisis?
