The USA and Israel have accused Iran of violating the terms of the Iran Nuclear Agreement which saw sanctions lifted on the country. The pair claim that Iran have been secretly trying to get nuclear weapons, despite being banned under the agreement. We've pulled together everything you need to know about the deal. What is the Iran nuclear deal? The Iran nuclear deal was an agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and a group of world powers for Iran to abandon its nuclear programme. The deal saw Iran agree to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium by 98 per cent. Enriched uranium is a critical component for making nuclear weapons and in nuclear power stations and by curbing the amount Iran produce is a way to curb the number of weapons produced. As part of the agreement Iran also agreed to only enrich their uranium up to 3.67 per cent over the next 15 years and they agreed to reduce their gas centrifuges for 13 years. Gas centrifuges are used to separate … [Read more...] about What is the Iran nuclear deal, which world powers signed it and when was it agreed?
When was iran nuclear deal signed
Stand Together Whether Europe can rescue the Iranian nuclear agreement depends on if they act in their own interests or are held hostage by US President Donald Trump. Published on May 1, 2018 11:41 am This week, a senior German official pointed out to me that, “The Iran nuclear deal is the last firewall preventing military tensions in the world’s most combustible region from spilling over into thermonuclear war.” That language is unusually apocalyptic, but it reflects a genuine fear that US President Donald Trump could soon dismantle a crucial line of defense that Germans and other Europeans are proud to have built. European leaders have been on the back foot since January, when Trump gave them a deadline of May 12 to “fix the terrible flaws of the Iran nuclear deal,” or he would re-impose sanctions on Iran. Trump’s main objections to the deal are that it does not address Iran’s misbehavior in the region or its ballistic missile … [Read more...] about How European leaders can save the Iran nuclear deal
At a news conference with Macron, the U.S. president kept up his blistering rhetoric against the nuclear accord between Iran and world powers that he says does not address Tehran's rising influence in the Middle East or its ballistic missile program. He called it insane, terrible and ridiculous. "This is a deal with decayed foundations," Trump said. "It's a bad deal. It's falling down." With a May 12 deadline looming for Trump to decide on restoring U.S. economic sanctions on Tehran, Macron said he spoke to Trump about a "new deal" in which the United States and Europe would tackle the outstanding concerns about Iran beyond its nuclear program. Macron is using a three-day state visit to the United States as a high-stakes bid to salvage the Iran nuclear deal, which many in the West see as the best hope of preventing Iran from getting a nuclear bomb and heading off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Under Macron's proposal, the United States and Europe would agree to block any … [Read more...] about Trump calls Iran nuclear deal ‘insane’ and ridiculous’

French President Emmanuel Macron said he will advise US President Donald Trump not to pull the United States out of the agreement on Iran's nuclear program during a state visit beginning Monday. Macron said the deal wasn't perfect but that there was no better option, adding in an interview broadcast Sunday on broadcaster Fox News that the agreement should be preserved. Under the nuclear deal - signed in 2015 by Iran, France, the United States, China, Britain, Russia and Germany - Tehran agreed to restrictions and intensive monitoring intended to ensure it could not build a nuclear weapon. International sanctions were lifted in return. Trump has threatened to pull out of the deal, warning in October that he would walk away from it unless what he called flaws were addressed. Trump faces a deadline on May 12 when he must decide whether to waive sanctions against Iran. Macron said his message will be "don't leave now because you don't have a better option." He said however that completing … [Read more...] about France’s Macron to urge Trump to stick with Iran nuclear deal during US visit
