Eyes to the skies this weekend as historical aircraft and fast noisy jets perform thrilling and daring aerobatics over the beach in Southport. IT'S one of the biggest race days on the motorsport calendar as over 300,000 people take to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Indy 500. The legendary Memorial Weekend race was won last year by former F1 man Takuma Sato as Fernando Alonso fell short despite earning the respect of Indy Car fans worldwide with a brilliant drive. The race caps off a mouthwatering day of motorsport, with the Monaco Grand Prix taking place earlier on the Sunday. When is the Indy 500? The Indy 500 will take place on Sunday, May 27. It will begin at 5.19pm in the UK, or 12.19pm in Indianapolis. Drivers will race 500 miles - 200 laps of the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The sixth round of the Challenge Cup gave us some wonderful entertainment. Hull’s win over Featherstone and Warrington’s victory over Toronto were both packed with yellow cards, red cards, bash and bitterness.
