Katie Price leaves cancer patient crying happy tears in surprise Zoom call

· March 5, 2021 ·

Katie Price left a cancer patient crying with happiness after she surprised her with a Zoom call. The fan in question, Justine Jianikos, has high-grade stage four incurable cancer which spread to her spine and lungs. One of the mum-of-three's wishes was to meet the former glamour model, so Katie took it upon herself to give Justine a call and help raise money to fund her treatment. In Katie's latest YouTube video , the star shared Justine’s emotional story and they were seen chatting away. The fan told Katie how she was initially misdiagnosed after having an ultrasound scan at a clinic. "They told me it was nothing to worry about, it was a fatty tissue called fibroadenoma," the fan began. "It's benign, I'm young enough. I rang my partner and said 'it's nothing to worry about. I'm good, it'll be fine.' "I went home that day and jumped into the swimming pool with my kids. It was a good day." However, the lump between her breast and armpit had grown to the size of a … [Read more...] about Katie Price leaves cancer patient crying happy tears in surprise Zoom call

‘Exhausted’ NHS heroes vent fury at ‘absolutely disgusting’ £3.50-a-week pay rise

· March 5, 2021 ·

Exhausted and demoralised NHS workers are being forced to take on side jobs as delivery drivers or turn to food banks as they struggle to get by on their current pay. Frontline workers have slammed the Government's proposed pitiful 1% pay rise as "absolutely disgusting" and "insulting", saying they would take home an extra £3.50 or less per week. For some that barely covers the cost of getting to and from work in a single day. NHS workers have told the Mirror they are prepared to go on strike as this offer is the latest slap in the face after a decade of austerity that saw them fall behind and a coronavirus pandemic in which they continue to risk their lives. Rio Ferdinand uses ex-Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s ‘hairdryer-type’ treatment to homeschool kids

· March 5, 2021 ·

RIO FERDINAND has adopted his ex-Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson's "hairdryer-type" treatment to homeschool his kids. Like millions of parents across the UK, Ferdinand and his wife, Kate, have just come to the end of their second term as amateur teachers. The retired footballer, who played teacher to three kids, Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, while also raising newborn son Cree, admitted he’s a strict disciplinarian who isn’t afraid to be stern if his "students" put a foot out of place during lesson time. He said: “I think I've learned a lot from Sir Alex Ferguson. I've not gone for the soft-touch approach. “It's important to be disciplined with them during the school day, keeping on top of them. “These are my own kids and I love them, but they can be difficult. You have to give them a bit of leeway but it's important to follow the fine line. “We were having dinner and Kate said, 'tell your dad what you told me the other day'. They didn't want to so Kate said, … [Read more...] about Rio Ferdinand uses ex-Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s ‘hairdryer-type’ treatment to homeschool kids

COVID-19: 1% pay rise for NHS staff ‘the most’ the government can afford, says minister Nadine Dorries

· March 5, 2021 ·

A 1% pay rise for NHS workers is "the most" the government can afford due to the economic cost of the COVID crisis, a health minister has told Sky News. The government is facing a furious backlash - led by the Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer - after calling for health care staff in England to be restricted to a pay rise of 1%. Live COVID updates from the UK and across the world But Nadine Dorries said it "would be wrong to say a single person in the government does not appreciate the effort" of NHS staff, as she defended the decision not to recommend a larger pay increase. "Of course, we recognise the sacrifice and the commitment and the vocation of nurses and all health workers over the past year," the minister said. "But I think it is important to note that the priority of the government has been about protecting people's livelihoods, about … [Read more...] about COVID-19: 1% pay rise for NHS staff ‘the most’ the government can afford, says minister Nadine Dorries

Coronavirus: Australia wants EU to ‘review’ Italy’s vaccine block

· January 5, 2021 ·

Australia's prime minister on Friday said he "understands" why Italy blocked the planned export of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine . Nevertheless, Australia asked the European Commission on Friday to review the decision. Italy, backed by the European Union's executive arm, used export controls to stop around 250,000 doses leaving for Australia earlier this week, after the drug manufacturer failed to fulfill its European Union order. "Australia has raised the issue with the European Commission through multiple channels," Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt told reporters on Friday.
