A MYSTERY tweeter who set up fake Wetherspoon accounts offering free booze is to finally be unmasked following a court ruling. The accounts amassed tens of thousands of followers while posting bogus news under the name "Tom", the High Court was told. One time the poster offered free drink to those who turned up to the chain's pubs wearing a waistcoat during the World Cup. At a hearing in London today, Master Victoria McCloud ordered Twitter - which did not oppose JD Wetherspoon's application - disclose information relating to the identity of the operator of the fake account by mid-January. Mr Hirst said the issue of fake accounts had been "an ongoing situation since 2014", adding that the circumstances had been made "worse if anything" by the fact that JD Wetherspoon had taken down its official Twitter account in April. A gay couple claim they were left "mortified" after being kicked out of a Wetherspoon's pub for kissing. The duo - who have asked not to be named - claim the incident happened at The Rodboro Buildings pub in Guildford, Surrey. They claim they were ordered to leave by a doorman as they were making their way out on Saturday night. A spokesman for the pub chain denied it was the kiss that got them thrown out - claiming they were asked to leave because of subsequent behaviour. One of the men, aged 42, said: "We'd been out for a friend's birthday, it was the end of the night and we were ready to leave. "Our two friends were waiting outside for us. Wetherspoons axes favourite dishes in huge menu shake up that could see one in five items scrapped From Monday the policy will be strictly enforced, covering all canines except assistance dogs. Spokesman Eddie Gershon said: "Even well behaved dogs can be unpredictable." He added that the family chain is mindful that "younger children in particular can be unpredictable around dogs and many are scared of dogs". The ban will cover Wetherspoons pubs and outside areas. Wetherspoons’ policy on dogs states: "While we are fond of dogs, we permit only registered assistance dogs inside … [Read more...] about Twitter reacts as pet owners and drinkers react to Wetherspoons pub dog ban
