Kanye West spotted ‘still wearing wedding ring’ after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce

· March 5, 2021 ·

Kim Kardashian may have filed for divorce from Kanye West just a few weeks ago but it appears the rapper may not be giving up hope of a reconciliation with his wife just yet. The 43-year-old was spotted flashing his wedding ring as he closed his car door outside of his Calabasas office. Flashing what appeared to be a smile, Kanye also looked like he was head to toe in his Yeezy line, wearing a dark grey shirt matched with blue trousers. The Gold Digger singer is said to be hoping to work things out with the mother of his four kids, according to a source close to the star. But the source also told ET that Kanye doesn’t expect any reconciliation to happen in the immediate future. However, Kim is said to be “happy to see that chapter close” as she filed the divorce papers. Sources shared that the singer hadn’t been doing well since the divorce was filed and had been trying to distract himself with work. Kim, 40, took steps to end the pair’s six-year marriage and they … [Read more...] about Kanye West spotted ‘still wearing wedding ring’ after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce

Deadly herpes virus outbreak in equestrian sports

· January 4, 2021 ·

Fear is spreading in the world of equestrian sport: At a tournament in the Spanish coastal city of Valencia, several horses have been infected with a dangerous variant of the herpes virus and died within a short time. The virus spreads quickly, treatment of the sick animals is difficult, and the prospect of a cure is slim. The outbreak is "probably the worst in Europe for many decades," said Sabrina Ibanez, secretary general of the FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale). A total of about 750 horses were competing in the competitions in Valencia. "It's very bad," Otto Becker, Germany’s national show jumping coach, also confirmed in an interview with DW. "There are a lot of vets on site looking after the animals. It's really been a disaster what happened there." Otto Becker,Germany’s national show jumping coach, is hoping the outbreak is contained soon. Herpes is not uncommon in horses. Many horses are carriers of what is known as equine herpes virus (EHV), which comes in … [Read more...] about Deadly herpes virus outbreak in equestrian sports

Coronavirus digest: Brazil’s Bolsonaro tells people ‘stop whining’

· January 5, 2021 ·

Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday that people needed to "stop whining" about COVID-19 in his latest outburst against the protective measures to contain the crisis. The far-right leader's comments come as Brazil goes through its deadliest week of the coronavirus pandemic, with more than 1,300 deaths per day. "Stop whining. How long are you going to keep crying about it?" Bolsonaro said as he called for easing restrictions. "We regret the deaths ... But where's Brazil going to end up if we just close everything?" The South American country of 212 million people has had an outbreak of cases, partly due to a variant of the virus detected in the Amazon rainforest. Bolsonaro previously compared COVID-19 to a "little flu" and promoted hydroxychloroquine as medication, despite studies showing its inefficiency against the virus. At least 260,000 people died in Brazil because of COVID-19. Watch video 03:04 Share Virus runs rampant … [Read more...] about Coronavirus digest: Brazil’s Bolsonaro tells people ‘stop whining’

Another new coronavirus variant found in UK as 16 cases spark investigation

· March 4, 2021 ·

Sixteen cases of another new Covid variant have been found in the UK. The strain was identified by Public Health England and anyone who tested positive and their contacts have been tracked down and told to isolate. It shares a mutation in common with the South African and Brazilian variants and has been designated a 'Variant Under Investigation' - meaning that scientists aren't immediately worried about it. But the change it shares with the others, E484K, could help the virus avoid immunity from vaccinations or previous infection. It doesn't feature the N501Y mutation, present in all 'Variants Of Concern' currently being monitored. There are now a total of four VUIs and four VOCs currently being tracked in the UK. Mutations are a natural part of the life of all viruses - not just the novel coronavirus . But experts closely monitor changes to dangerous bugs like Covid-19 which has killed more than 2.4million worldwide, and over 118,000 in the UK. The mutations must … [Read more...] about Another new coronavirus variant found in UK as 16 cases spark investigation

Beijing declares only ‘patriots’ should rule Hong Kong as elections delayed again

· March 5, 2021 ·

Beijing has declared that only "patriots" should rule Hong Kong - and unveiled plans to change the city's electoral system to ensure just that. Candidates for election to the Legislative Council - Hong Kong 's parliament - will be vetted, according to the proposed changes. And elections scheduled for 2020, already postponed for a year, will be pushed back to 2022. "The rioting and turbulence that occurred in the Hong Kong society reveals that the existing electoral system in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has clear loopholes and deficiencies," said Wang Chen, vice chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, according to state media. The NPC, China 's annual parliament, is meeting in Beijing this week. The changes to Hong Kong's electoral system are only a proposal but will almost certainly be approved given the rubber stamp nature of the NPC. "Loopholes" is one of Beijing's favourite terms for describing aspects of … [Read more...] about Beijing declares only ‘patriots’ should rule Hong Kong as elections delayed again
