With social media feeds regularly filling up with bad news as the coronavirus pandemic worsens, some Twitter users decided to take a more light-hearted approach. #NewDisneyQuarantineRides was trending on the social networking platform on Sunday as users imagined how rides at Disney theme parks could be renamed to fit a coronavirus theme. Some of the suggestions included plays on existing rides involving toilet paper and hand sanitizer — both items which are now hard to come by due to panic-buying during the pandemic. "It's A Small Roll," joked Tom Gardiner on Twitter, alongside an image of a nearly empty roll of toilet paper. "Indiana Jones and The Last Roll," another Twitter user suggested. Bedford fire: Three injured including firefighter after major gas explosion causes ‘inferno’ at block of flats
Three people, including a firefighter, have been taken to hospital after a major gas explosion caused an "inferno" at a block of 20 flats in Bedford. Two of them suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to Bedford Hospital South Wing, while a third sustained leg injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital. The blaze on Redwood Grove was so intense that it led to the collapse of the building's roof. The firefighter was one of those hurt by smoke inhalation, said the East of England Ambulance Service, as fire teams described the blaze as a "major incident". A local resident said they saw one person leap from a second-floor window to escape the burning block. Joe Pooley, 22, was thrown in the River Gipping in Ipswich and held under the water in August 2018. Three people were jailed for his murder last year. His mother, Samantha Nicholls told the hearing in Ipswich she made repeated pleas for support for her son, who had learning disabilities. When asked by Suffolk coroner Jacqueline Devonish if she had said she was in fear of him being killed, she said: "Yes, I said I said he would be bullied to death - and that's exactly what happened." Mrs Devonish pointed out she made the remarks in emails as far back as 2015, and asked: "Joe was begging for help, not just you?," to which his mother agreed. The rarest clouds on Earth were spotted by sky watchers in parts of western US, Europe and Canada over the weekend a vibrant display that has not been seen in about 15 years. Known as noctilucent, these clouds were glowing a stunning blue in the sky just after the sun moved below the horizon. Reports of the eerie-looking clouds came from Oregon , Washington, Alberta, the UK and Denmark. Noctilucent clouds (NLCs) form in the mesosphere, which is at altitudes of around 50 miles – making them the highest in Earth's atmosphere. The clouds consist of ice crystals that become visible during twilight when the sun is shining from blow the horizon. Person jumps from flat block inferno after huge explosion
A person was seen jumping from a second-floor window to escape a raging fire caused by a ‘huge explosion’ at a block of flats. Footage shows flames and plumes of smoke erupt from the building in Redwood Grove, Bedford, as fire engines showered the blaze with water. At least two people have been injured, one seriously, in the explosion which obliterated most of the block. The emergency services have urged people to avoid the area and keep their windows and doors closed. A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said they saw the resident jump from the burning building. ‘I heard the explosion from my house round the corner,’ she said. ‘I walked to town and saw the flames and also witnessed someone jump from the second-floor window while flames were blaring out.’ Adam Fisher rushed outside his office after hearing the ‘huge explosion’ and witnessed the ‘inferno’. A TEEN who lost part of her leg after being attacked by a nine-foot shark in Florida has spoken of her bloody ordeal for the first time. Addison Bethea, 17, was scalloping in water about five feet deep near Grassy Island, just off Keaton Beach, when she was attacked by the beast in Taylor County on Thursday. She was rushed to hospital with serious injuries as doctors desperately attempted to save her severely torn lib.
