Washington Nationals pitcher Daniel Hudson on Saturday defended his decision to leave the team for the first game of the National League Championship Series to be present when his wife gave birth. Hudson, 32, said he deleted his social media accounts a while back. Nevertheless, he learned of the online chatter - and criticism - over his Game 1 absence. The team placed him on paternity leave so that he could be there when little Millie, the couple's third child, was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on Friday morning. 20. Sister Act (1992) Maggie Smith plays the authoritarian Mother Superior in this nuntastic box-office smash with a hint of Some Like It Hot, featuring Whoopi Goldberg as the lounge singer forced to go into a witness protection and join a convent after witnessing a mob slaying. There is some poignancy and dramatic edge to Smith’s disapproving mien. 19. With subtle melancholy and restraint, Smith plays Lady Naylor, presiding over an estate in County Cork that feels increasingly embattled as Ireland prepares to break free of the British. 18. A Room With a View (1985) Smith plays Charlotte Bartlett in Ruth Prawer Jhabvala’s adaptation of EM Forster’s novel, directed by James Ivory. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s wardrobe is an affront to feminism and socialism Like many people I was very excited about congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to begin with. She always looks incredibly professional and well put together. She even – and this will shock you – appears to own a jacket and a coat. I would never have believed Ocasio-Cortez could be so extravagant myself, but I saw the evidence with my own eyes. … [Read more...] about Conservatives are terrified of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The gay husband of a Democratic presidential candidate, a born-again Christian pastor and a GOP-voting Army veteran: it doesn't take much to spot the odd brother out. Few were surprised, therefore, when Pete Buttigieg's spouse Chasten Glezman claimed he was disowned by his conservative older brothers and forced to flee his home after coming out at 18. But while the poignant backstory resonated with liberal voters and helped the South Bend, Indiana, mayor stand out among the crowded democratic 2020 field, it's now being denounced as a lie by Chasten's siblings. 'He was never shunned. He was never homeless. He had a home,' Dustin Glezman, 32, told DailyMailTV. 'When I read all this stuff, it's like I'm reading about someone else's family. I don’t recognize any of it.’ Dustin supplied DailyMailTV with an exclusive photo of himself, Chasten and eldest brother Rhyan, taken in 2010, about two years after Chasten supposedly alienated his family by revealing he was gay. … [Read more...] about EXCLUSIVE: ‘He was never shunned.
