Today, five people were pulled from the sea at Clacton Pier, Essex, after getting into difficulty - with one person still missing. The Biden administration announced another $1 billion in new military aid for Ukraine on Monday, pledging what will be the biggest yet delivery of rockets, ammunition and other arms straight from Department of Defense stocks for Ukrainian forces. The US pledge of a massive new shipment of arms comes as analysts warned that Russia was moving troops and equipment in the direction of the southern port cities to stave off a Ukrainian counteroffensive. The aid includes additional rockets for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS, as well as thousands of artillery rounds, mortar systems, Javelins and other ammunition and equipment. At least five people are dead after a series of massive earthquakes struck a region in southern Iran . Footage shows collapsed buildings where an earthquake measuring 6.1 has killed at least five people and injured many more this morning. A major rescue operation took place in the darkness in the southern port city of Bandar-e Lengeh and surrounding villages as teams looking for survivors in the rubble. One video showed a village of buildings that had razed to the ground by the quake and many people are in the streets. "Here is Sayeh Khosh, one of the villages affected by the earthquake in Hormozgan. The pictures show the 100% destruction of this village. The population of Sayeh Khosh is 1,600 people," tweeted a local journalist.
