Photo: Maya Robinson and Photos by Columbia Pictures, Focus Features, Eureka Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Disney Even if you spent your summers on the couch watching reruns of The Price Is Right with your babysitter Sonia who smelled like sweat and cheese balls stuck in braces instead of going to summer camp, everyone knows what camp feels like, thanks to the tons of summer-camp movies and TV shows (remember Salute Your Shorts ?) that we’ve seen over the years. With summer fully here, we thought it time we revisit some of those camps. What makes a summer-camp movie great has less to do with the experience of applying bug spray and learning to swim in the lake, and more to do with celebrating childhood, rebellion, groups of scrappy outsiders pitted against the more popular, and like-minded people banding together to make something impossible and wonderful happen. (Most of them have first kisses, too, thanks to all those girlfriends at summer camp that the other kids … [Read more...] about 15 Classic Summer-Camp Movies, Ranked

Queen baffled by school girl on scooter in hilarious resurfaced video
A bizarre clip from an old royal visit showing Queen Elizabeth II watching an elementary school pupil ride a scooter on her belly in apparent bemusement has resurfaced and gone viral. Video newly posted to Instagram appeared to come from Elizabeth's June 2017 visit to Mayflower Primary School, in Tower Hamlets, East London, alongside Prince Philip. The occasion had a poignant backdrop as it was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the bombing of the school during World War I, when it was known as Upper North Street School. However, it contained a number of awkward moments, including when the queen found herself watching a school girl pull herself along with her hands while lying flat on a scooter. An Instagram reel of the footage garnered 224k likes with users commenting on the perplexed look on the then 91-year-old's face. A caption on one version of the videos, by account thehouseofwindsorr, read: "The Queen has no idea what's going on." Crosby, Stills & Nash quietly return to Spotify after Rogan boycott
The supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash have made a quiet return to Spotify, five months after boycotting the platform in protest against comments made by controversial podcast host Joe Rogan about COVID-19. In February, the group's sometimes bandmate Neil Young pulled his music from Spotify in protest of vaccine "disinformation" promoted by Rogan on his popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience , sparking a wave of artists to do the same, including Crosby, Stills & Nash. "We support Neil and we agree with him that there is dangerous disinformation being aired on Spotify's Joe Rogan podcast," the band, comprised of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, wrote on social media in support of Young. "Until real action is taken to show that a concern for humanity must be balanced with commerce, we don't want our music - or the music we made together - to be on the same platform." As of now, most of the band's music catalog is once again on Spotify. The music of Crosby, … [Read more...] about Crosby, Stills & Nash quietly return to Spotify after Rogan boycott
Charles, Camilla hire executive from Daily Mail Group Meghan and Harry sued
Prince Charles and Camilla are hiring a Daily Mail deputy editor to run their media operation—despite Meghan Markle and Prince Harry suing the newspaper's publisher three times. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are hiring Tobyn Andreae, deputy editor of the Daily Mail , as communications secretary to replace Simon Enright, according to The Sunday Times . Meghan won privacy and copyright damages after the brand's Sunday edition, The Mail on Sunday, printed a letter she sent her father, with the three-year saga finally ending at the Court of Appeal in December 2021. At the time, Meghan said: "These harmful practices don't happen once in a blue moon—they are a daily fail that divide us, and we all deserve better." "Daily Fail" is a common nickname in Britain among detractors which is applied to both the daily and Sunday editions of the U.K. newspaper. Prince Harry has also sued The Mail on Sunday twice, with his latest lawsuit still ongoing . … [Read more...] about Charles, Camilla hire executive from Daily Mail Group Meghan and Harry sued
Woman’s bag allegedly catches on fire in Greece due to scorching sun
A woman posted a now-viral video showing the remnants of her beach bag that she said was torched by the sun on a hot day in Greece. Eva Bacchoo posted the clip on her TikTok account @evabacchoo on June 24, and it has since amassed more than one million views. "Just to give you a rough idea of how hot it currently is in Crete, my bag just set itself on fire," Bacchoo said. According to California Casualty, an insurance company, an "ordinary fire" involves paper, wood, clothing, trash or plastic. "This type of fire may occur if you knock over a candle or get a spark from the fireplace," a piece published by the organization stated. "Unlike the other fires, these do respond well to water." If a fire extinguisher is not readily available, the organization recommended filling a bucket with water and dousing the flames. Bacchoo showed what her bag looked like after she managed to extinguish it. "I started smelling burning and I thought, 'Oh, weird,'" she said. "I turned … [Read more...] about Woman’s bag allegedly catches on fire in Greece due to scorching sun
What ‘Unprecedented’ trailer reveals about Donald Trump’s family
The trailer for Alex Holder's three-part docuseries Unprecedented, which details Donald Trump and his family during the 2020 presidential campaign and after the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, has emerged. The documentary trailer, which is due to be broadcast on Discovery+ sometime in the summer , was obtained by Politico. While not detailing too much, the Unprecedented trailer does show how much access Holder had around the Trump family during the final stages of the 2020 campaign and prior to the Capitol riot. The footage shows members of the Trump family—the former president, Ivanka Trump , Eric Trump , Donald Trump Jr., and Jared Kushner —in outtakes as they are setting up for interviews. The trailer also shows clips from Trump rallies across the country during the final few weeks of the campaign, including one where Trump Jr. states "we will make liberals cry again."
