Shamed Luca Corberi QUITS karting after throwing bumper at rival and claims he asked officials to strip him of licence

· October 6, 2020 ·

THE shamed kart racer who threw a bumper at a rival before starting a fight with him has said he will never race again. Italian Luca Corberi, 23, labelled himself 'disgraceful' and said he volunteered to hand in his licence after drawing worldwide condemnation for his sickening meltdown . Video captured Corberi waiting at the side of the Lonato track - built and owned by his family in Lombardy - during an FIA Karting World Championship race. Corberi had been forced to retire nine laps into the 23-lap KZ Final after a collision with Paolo Ippolito. But rather than leave the circuit, he waited for Ippolito to come past again at full speed before hurling his bumper at him. Cameras later picked up Corberi - who used to race against current F1 star Lance Stroll - attacking Ippolito in the pit area. Brit hero and former F1 world champ Jenson Button demanded Corberi be banned for life for his sickening violence. Corberi has since broken his silence on Facebook and … [Read more...] about Shamed Luca Corberi QUITS karting after throwing bumper at rival and claims he asked officials to strip him of licence

Woman stuck in hotel quarantine had to say goodbye to dying sister on phone as not exempt

· February 27, 2021 ·

A woman stuck in a quarantine hotel has hit out after her sister's death did not qualify her for exemption - forcing her say goodbye over the phone. Billie Gray, 27, who had been working in Sweden since August, believed she would be able to isolate at her mum's house upon her return to Scotland after two negative coronavirus tests. But when she landed at Edinburgh Airport last Friday she was told she would not be allowed through border control unless she agreed to quarantine at a nearby hotel. This meant she had to speak to sister Maryanne, 48, for the last time over the phone as she died in hospital from kidney and liver failure on Monday, reports the Daily Record . And tearful Billy, who says she feels like a "terrorist being kept in a cell", is now facing an unexpected £1750 bill on top of the £920 she had already forked out for flights and coronavirus tests. El Chapo’s wife Emma Coronel Aispuro ‘is preparing to rat out cartel’ and will ‘get new life under witness protection’

· February 27, 2021 ·

EMMA Coronel Aispuro, the wife of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, is expected to rat out the Sinaloa cartel. Law enforcement sources claim that Coronel Aispuro is "definitely cooperating" and that she is likely a candidate for the witness protection program. "Emma wants to get far away from the violence," a law enforcement source told the New York Post . "[She] has always wanted to live in the US." Coronel Aispuro, 31, was arrested in the US on Monday and accused of helping to run her husband’s drug-trafficking empire after a “high-ranking associate” of the cartel ratted out its senior members. She is also accused of helping El Chapo, 63, escape from a maximum-security Mexican prison in 2015 and helping to plot another escape before he was extradited to the US in 2017. If she enters witness protection, which ex-DEA officer Mike Vigil told The Daily Mail is likely, she would vanish with her twin 9-year-old daughters. Vigil said it's … [Read more...] about El Chapo’s wife Emma Coronel Aispuro ‘is preparing to rat out cartel’ and will ‘get new life under witness protection’

A Berlinale for the industry first

· January 27, 2021 ·

The Berlinale has a certain number of established rituals. Braving the normally bitter end-of-February weather - when the international film festival usually takes place - there's always a crowd of die-hard autograph collectors flocking at the corner of the street where actors and filmmakers are dropped off from limousines ahead of their movie's press conference. And before the premiere of a film, fans spend hours waiting to see their favorite stars walk up the red carpet, hoping to get a selfie with them, or simply to soak up the exciting atmosphere of the festival , even if it's freezing outside. Meanwhile, journalists usually run around from one press screening to the other, scrambling to fit in press conferences and interviews into their packed schedule, all while quickly filing stories on deadline. All that won't be happening this year - at least not during the part of the festival kicking off next week. The Golden Bear winner will be announced at the end of the … [Read more...] about A Berlinale for the industry first
