Yorkshire Ripper victims’ families demand inheritance share as ex-wife says ‘no comment’

Families ripped apart by one of Britain’s worst serial killers are demanding his estate be shared between them. Mystery surrounds what Peter Sutcliffe has left in his will amid claims he owns two plots of land in Scotland. Sutcliffe boasted that one of the Kray twins offered to buy the land gifted to him by a female admirer while in Broadmoor. But Neil Jackson, 62, whose mum Emily Jackson was Sutcliffe’s second murder victim, says his victims should be given compensation if there are any funds available. And he’s asking the Government to intervene to find out the extent of the killer’s property and funds. Neil, who had to identify his mother’s body when he was just 17 years old, “If there is any money or property that he has interest in, it should be divided up and handed to the families he destroyed. “When he murdered my mum 46 years ago, we got no compensation or support. BAFTA Games Awards 2021 nominees announced, with The Last of Us Part II breaking a record

BAFTA have announced the nominations for this year's British Academy Games Awards, providing a snapshot of the biggest and best games from 2020. Unsurprisingly, The Last of Us Part II features heavily in a lot of categories, racking up a record breaking 13 nominations. Naughty Dog's sequel steals the crown from Control and Death Stranding, which both topped out at 11 nods each last year. New IPs Ghost of Tsushima and Hades aren't too far behind, earning 10 and eight nominations respectively. GoT was one of the PS4's standout exclusives in 2020, while Supergiant Games' smash hit isometric roguelike Hades appeared on many a Game of the Year list a couple of months ago, including the Mirror's . COVID-19: UK reports another 343 deaths and 6,391 cases in last 24 hours

The UK has reported another 343 COVID-related deaths and 6,391 cases in the last 24 hours, government figures show. This compares to the 104 coronavirus deaths and 5,455 new infections recorded on Monday. A 17-year-old with no known underlying health conditions was among the latest reported deaths in England. Volvo joins race to go all-electric by 2030 and will shift all sales online

Volvo has outlined a roadmap to an all-electric future for its cars by 2030, with all sales to follow Tesla's lead and become online-only. The Swedish carmaker, which is owned by China's Geely, joins other major brands to have set a clear path away from petrol and diesel-powered vehicles in recent weeks and months as a surging number of countries move to outlaw fossil fuel engines. The UK has set a deadline of 2030 for a ban on sales of new petrol and diesel models as part of its commitment to tackle climate change . Manchester Arena inquiry: Firefighters were ‘in tears’ after failing to attend 2017 bombing which killed 22

Firefighters were in tears and turned their backs on a senior commander at a debrief as they sought answers from senior officers about why they had not been deployed to the scene of the Manchester Arena attack, the inquiry has heard. The inquiry was told that a tearful paramedic approached firefighters and asked why they were "just stood around" at a fire station a mile from the attack . Group Manager Alan Topping, duty command support officer on the night of the attack, told the inquiry that firefighters were ashamed and emotional in the aftermath of the attack in which the service did not arrive at the scene until two hours after the explosion. The officer, who had 29 years of experience, is the first who was present on the ground to give evidence to the inquiry and said that by the time firefighters arrived it was too late to help.
