THIS is a shout out to Margaret from Tunbridge Wells. Do you want a job working with me? I only ask because you are absolutely spot on about the Nissan Qashqai. Margaret’s online review goes like this: “Positives: All. Negatives: No. Score: 9/10.” I’m with you, Margaret. There’s nothing wrong with a Qashqai — it does everything well — but it’ll never be a ten out of ten. Now before I get emails saying, “Hang on a minute, mate, last week you gave the Qashqai a trophy for being the best British-built car”. It is. It deserves a hand-clap because it is a warrior. But it’s just not very exciting. No one is ever going to go to the pub and say, “F***ing hell, lads. Look what I’ve just bought. A Qashqai.” Not … [Read more...] about There’s nothing wrong with the Nissan Qashaqi — it’s just not exciting

Film and TV around the world has come a long way in terms of accurately representing the queer community; our voices have been screaming for some relatable, non-clichéd, diverse characters – and I believe that The CW has delivered. While it may seem strange that I’m so fanatical about this, the simple truth is that it’s something I (and many other queer individuals) need. Normalising queer characters in films and TV shows creates acceptance and captures the reality in which we all live in – people aren’t always heterosexual. At sixteen-years-old, I tuned into The Vampire Diaries’ spin-off, The Originals, which revolved around the original family of vampires. At that point in my life, I hadn’t come out to my parents, so I held in my excitement when the show introduced a gay character in the second episode: Joshua Rosza (played by Steven Krueger). No longer would I find myself searching the depths of YouTube at two in the morning in attempt … [Read more...] about The Originals And Queer Representation
