President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian on October 17 hosted famous doctor, Professor at the Columbia University John Bilezikian, the Presidential Office told Armenpress. For already 12 years a symposium on osteoporosis issues is being organized in Armenia by the initiative of Professor Bilezikian, and next week an international forum will be held in Yerevan for the second time which will be attended by delegates from more than 20 countries. The Professor attached great importance to the implementation of education, research programs and stated that he transfers his experience to Armenian doctors with a great pleasure. Foreign students flocking to German universities
Degree of certainty The number of foreigners choosing to study for degrees in Germany is increasing. The country now ranks fifth, behind the US, Britain, Australia and France, as students' destination of choice. Published on July 18, 2018 5:00 pm Germany is attracting increasing numbers of foreign students to its universities, a trend that will surely be welcomed by business leaders lamenting the country’s chronic shortage of skilled labor. Five years ago, the government set a goal of having at least 350,000 foreign students enrolled at German universities and colleges by 2020. It has already exceeded that, reaching 359,000 in 2017, according to official figures presented this week. “It shows we’re highly attractive internationally as a location for science,” Education Minister Anja Karliczek said. AI courses in high demand at Dutch universities
Dutch universities are seeing significant growth in the number of students who want to study artificial intelligence in the coming academic year. At some educational institutions, the number of applications doubled compared to the current academic year. Interest in related courses, like data science and business analytics, is also on the rise, NOS reports. Some universities can not cope with the growth, and are putting a brake on the number of admissions. Five of the six universities offering AI courses are limiting the number of students they take in. The University of Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Radboud University Nijmegen and the University of Groningen are all setting a strict limit on the number of students that can study AI.
