Myanmar's ambassador to the UN has been fired a day after making a three-fingered salute in support of anti-coup protests - as he called on nations to use "any means necessary" to reverse the military takeover. Kyaw Moe Tun was removed as police arrested hundreds of demonstrators who showed opposition to the coup on 1 February. Myanmar's crisis took a dramatic turn on Friday when the ambassador made a three-fingered salute adopted by the protesters before the UN General Assembly. Mr Tun had called on the world to pressure the military to cede power and said he was speaking on behalf of the ousted civilian government of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Alexei Navalny: Jailed Putin critic’s wife among thousands marking murder of opposition MP
The wife of jailed Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny has joined thousands of people in commemorating the anniversary of fellow Putin critic Boris Nemtsov's murder. Yulia Navalny laid a bunch of red roses on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge in central Moscow where Mr Nemtsov was gunned down on the night of 27 February in 2015. Mr Nemtsov briefly served as Russia 's deputy prime minister in the late 1990s before joining the opposition. Russian ambassadors of several Western countries were among the thousands of people who attended Saturday's commemoration, Russian news agencies said. A COUPLE say they have found 150 faults with their new £265,000 Help to Buy home. Amy Fenn, 24, and fiancé George Watts-Sturrock, 32, claim to have had endless issues with their "nightmare" new-build - including damp, mould, uneven walls and even a burst water tank and two floods. The pair bought the detached three-bed property in Norfolk in 2018. It was advertised as being part of "a superb collection of stunning homes" by Suffolk builder Hopkins & Moore. It should have been their dream home, but they say it has been "a nightmare". It started with mould in the first week, and then the pair noticed damp, uneven walls and that the stairs were unfinished. They say there was also a wonky sink, wobbly doors, damaged worktops, dodgy tiling and the drains were blocked with rubble. Mum gifted year’s supply of free milk after pushing massive lorry up hill in snow
A KIND-HEARTED mum who pushed a LORRY up a snow-covered hill has been gifted a year's supply of free milk as a thank you. Charlene Leslie, was filmed giving a Graham’s milk truck a helping hand in Cowdenbeath, Fife, as Storm Darcy brought heavy snow and the coldest temperatures for 26 years. The mum of three, originally from Edinburgh, went viral after footage emerged online. Speaking today, Charlene said she knows the stunt was dangerous but she couldn't stand by while the HGV struggled through the flurries. She said: “I would never just stand by when I see someone in trouble. I suppose what I did was really dangerous, but thankfully the Graham’s truck got safely up the hill. The 49-year-old was left in tears over the "excruciating lower pelvic pain" caused when a nearly 6cm cyst ruptured in lockdown and left her hospitalised.
