A HIGH-TECH capsule that could one day take astronauts to the Moon has been unveiled by a US company building space tech for Nasa. Alabama military firm Dynetics revealed its first full-scale model of the lander this week as part of its bid to partner with Nasa on its Artemis mission, which plans to put man on the lunar surface in 2024. The military outfit is one of three companies contracted by Nasa to come up with lander ideas for Artemis. Dynetics said the model, located in Huntsville, Alabama, will be used to test the prototype vehicle, dubbed the Human Landing System. "Our team is pleased to bring this system to life," the firm's Kim Doering said. "Our reusable, sustainable approach is ready to support a safe and successful hardware delivery for Nasa's mission." NHS Covid heroes have been dealt a “kick in the teeth” as the government proposed a pay award of just 1%. The figure, branded 'the worst kind of insult' by furious unions, amounts to a real terms pay cut in 2021/22 when inflation is factored in. It comes a day after Rishi Sunak faced furyfor not including any cash in the Budget for staff who were crucial to keeping Britain going through the pandemic. A Department of Health And Social Care document issued today reads: “In settling the DHSC and NHS budget, the government assumed a headline pay award of one per cent for NHS staff. “Anything higher would require re-prioritisation.” Health workers are in the final year of a three year pay deal - which took eight years of pay freezes to negotiate. Staff are due to get a 0.7% pay rise next month, which the Government say isn't included in the 1% assumption. David Beckham has reportedly set to make a new TV series about underprivileged young footballers for Disney+. The legendary British footballer, 45, is said to have signed a seven-figure deal with the streaming service to make the new series. A source told The Sun: "David was approached by Disney+ about making the show and he was very taken with the idea because it really reflects his own experiences growing up. Plus he’s still so committed to young talent in the game. "He will be acting as a mentor figure to a group of young people growing up in the inner cities whose lives are being changed by football." The paper adds that the streaming service was especially keen to cast David as the mentor due to his own life experiences and success.
