The Bank of England has upgraded its growth forecast for the coronavirus-hit UK economy and signalled it will not raise interest rates in the near term - despite seeing a looming spike in inflation ahead. The latest meeting of the central bank's interest rate-setting committee left policy unchanged, with rates remaining at their COVID-19 crisis low of 0.1% as analysts had widely expected. Its £895bn programme of asset purchases, known as quantitative easing, was also kept static. But its quarterly Monetary Policy Report said that the vaccine-led recovery from the sharpest hit to the economy in over 300 years in 2020 was clearly under way at a greater speed than initially expected. TESCO clubcard members now have an extra six months to spend vouchers which were due to expire at the end of this month. Around 19million clubcard members with vouchers due to expire on May 31 will see them extended until the end of November. Vouchers usually expire after two years of being issued to Tesco clubcard members. Any vouchers issued in May 2019 will now expire on 31 November 2021. You don’t need to do anything to update the vouchers yourself. Tesco will be updating the expiry dates on the affected vouchers if they’re digital. If you have paper vouchers with the old date on them, don't worry - staff will still be accepting them beyond the printed expiry date. However, the extension won’t apply to any vouchers that were originally due to expire in November last year , but were extended until the end of this month. A VIRGIN Media broadband outage today left thousands of customers unable to get online. The network provider has since told The Sun its broadband is back up and running and that the outage lasted around 15 minutes. But it wasn't fixed before disrupting customers' work as millions rely on the service to work from home under coronavirus lockdown restrictions. Issues with the internet provider began around 10:30am this morning, according to complaints tracker Downdetector. Up to 1,700 customers complained about the service, which mainly impacted users primarily in the south of England.
