Persona 4 Golden review – the social network
If you read our recent report on console sales in Japan you would’ve seen, in stark numerical form, exactly the depth of hole the PS Vita finds itself in. In Japan the fastest-selling game so far for the Vita has been Persona 4 Golden: an enhanced port of a four-year-old PlayStation 2 game. If you want to be uncharitable that probably says more about the Vita’s currently niche appeal than sales figures ever could. If you want to be entirely honestly though, you’d have to admit that Persona 4 Golden is one of the best role-playing games ever made. Although this is technically still a spin-off from the Shin Megami Tensei series its links to Persona 3 are obscure and references to the other games almost non-existent. The basic set-up is the same as previous Persona titles though, as you play an apparently ordinary secondary school student who is moved from the busy city to a smaller rural town. At first it seems a perfectly ordinary place, with the Japanese setting making … [Read more...] about Persona 4 Golden review – the social network

Scottish civil servants warned of ‘farts’ in the workplace
Women who question transgender ideology have been branded “farts” as part of equalities training offered to civil servants in Nicola Sturgeon’s Government , it has emerged. Workers who attended a workplace “trans 101” course were told the term was an acronym for “feminism appropriating ridiculous transphobe” and that women who oppose inclusivity measures were part of a “trans hate group”. Staff who attended the training session, run by the Scottish Government’s taxpayer-funded LGBTI+ internal staff network, were also urged to study claims that biological sex is a “falsehood” invented by the medical profession to “reinforce white supremacy and gender oppression”. A grassroots feminist movement has become prominent in Scotland and is vocal in opposition to SNP plans to allow Scots to change their legal sex simply by signing a declaration. Drugs prescribed to millions of Brits ‘can pose a threat to your brain’
DRUGS that are prescribed to millions of Brits could pose a risk to the health of your brain in later life, experts have warned. Anti-anxiety medication is used for people who are struggling with overwhelming feelings and can also be used for those have issues with sleep . Earlier this year it was found that the number of people in the UK using drugs to combat anxiety had soared. The use of such medication has been rising steadily in recent years and now a new study has found that the pills can impact the brain's microglial cells. Experts at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANTSO) said the use of them could interfere with the dendritic spines. The dendritic spines play a key part in the brain's neurons and contribute to the part of the brain that electrifies and activates cells. More flight cancellations as airlines re-work schedules in line with slot amnesty
Frustrated travellers face more flight cancellations over the coming weeks, as airlines rush to re-work their schedules. The upheaval comes in response to last month's announcement that an amnesty will allow airlines to cancel flights while still retaining take-off and landing slots next year. Airlines buy slots to operate their schedules but can lose them to rivals if they fail to maintain their obligations to the airport and passengers by failing to fly. It is hoped that being able to more freely adjust schedules will allow airlines to run only the flights they can fully staff, ending the reports of passengers arriving at the airport to find their flights cancelled at the last minute. British Airways flights from Heathrow are likely to see the highest number of cancellations, according to a report. Advertisement The Daily Telegraph said that the airline had planned to carry 1.8 million passengers on more than 9,000 flights from Heathrow in July … [Read more...] about More flight cancellations as airlines re-work schedules in line with slot amnesty
