According to a New York Times report, George Soros has channeled $1 million to the Democracy Integrity Project, a civil rights organization which used the research group Fusion GPS as a contractor in a quest for dirt on Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. Fusion GPS, in turn, hired Christopher Steele, a former MI6 officer-turned-investigator, to compile a dossier on the alleged Russian meddling into the 2016 US presidential vote and collusion with Donald Trump campaign, which both Russia and Trump denied. Steele's private report contained unverified claims of conspiracy between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and the Russian government before and during the 2016 election. Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen, who Steele said had travelled to Europe to meet with Russian officials, has denied all the allegations. Action star Steven Seagal dismissed alleged collusion between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia as fiction, warning that “certain groups” will do or say anything to push through their political agendas. “There is a tremendous amount of propaganda against Russia, and in my opinion, most of the things that are being said is fabricated and untrue," Seagal told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday. He added that allegations that US President Donald Trump colluded with the Russian government to win the presidency was “all a fantasy.” The actor, who holds US and Russian citizenship, said that the Russiagate narrative “has more to do with the great divide between Republicans and Democrats.” “At this point, certain groups will do anything in the world, they don’t care if it’s legal, illegal, immoral – they don’t care. Claims of a collusion between Donald Trump’s associates and Russia to win the presidential election are "a fantasy" and part of propaganda against Moscow, Hollywood actor Steven Seagal, recently appointed as the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Special Envoy for Russian-US humanitarian relations, told Fox News, TASS reports. "I believe this is a situation where there is a tremendous amount of propaganda against Russia, and in my opinion, most of the things that are being said is fabricated and untrue. And I think that this whole thing with Russian collusion and the president of the United States being involved in Russian collusion… it's all a fantasy," Seagal said. Trump has been repeatedly accused of collusion with Russia during the US 2016 elections. The special investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election will hit the one-year mark this Thursday, having so far produced zero evidence of collusion between Donald Trump and the Kremlin. US Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation has been the constant backdrop of Donald Trump's presidency, but the focus of his probe has wandered off into decidedly un-Russian territory. "Russiagate," as it's colloquially known, has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past twelve months. Terrifying stories of Trump scheming with Putin to steal the US presidency have morphed into lurid tales of porn actresses, payoffs, and decade-old bank fraud. In the absence of evidence pointing to a Trump-Kremlin link, Mueller is now looking to make a case – any case. After one year, what has Mueller's Russia probe actually uncovered – and where is it heading? Calling Mueller's bluff In February, Mueller indicted 13 people and three organizations … [Read more...] about Happy b-day, Mueller probe! What happened to the ‘Russia collusion,’ though?
