Trump offers deals where only he can win

Strong speculation that Donald Trump may be on the verge of confirming his intentions to run again in 2024 is raising questions as to whether it is still too early for him to declare. The former president is reported to be desperate to divert attention away from the damning January 6 hearing by announcing he will be vying for the White House for the third time. The speculation increased in the wake of the damning June 28 testimony of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who said Trump was aware that his supporters were armed on January 6 but he still ordered them to the Capitol, and that he tried to grab the steering wheel of the presidential SUV as he was so desperate to join the riot as it was unfolding. Washington — The Georgia prosecutor examining former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the state's 2020 election results is seeking to compel several Trump allies, including Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Lindsey Graham, to testify before the special grand jury investigating the scheme. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis petitioned the judge overseeing the panel to issue certificates determining Giuliani, Graham and others are material witnesses to the investigation, the first step in asking courts in other states to compel the witnesses to appear in Georgia. Conservative attorney John Eastman and pundit Jacki Deason were also identified as material witnesses, as well as Trump attorneys Cleta Mitchell, Kenneth Chesebro and Jenna Ellis. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported the move to compel the witnesses' testimony. The certificates state the witnesses would be required to testify as early as July 12. England’s women’s team will receive a bonus of £55,000 each if they win the European Championship this summer , it can be revealed. The deal is the most generous scheme ever agreed between the FA and players heading into a tournament, although the overall squad total of around £1.3million would be much lower than the bonus of £5m that England's men would have received if they had won last summer's Euros. The women's bonus would represent a significantly higher percentage of the prize money on offer from Uefa, however. The winners of the women's tournament could receive up to just over €2m depending on how many Group Stage games they win, in contrast to the €34m that Italy took home after triumphing last summer. And with an appearance fee of £2,000 per match, some players could take home more than £72,000 at the end of a successful tournament, which is more than many professional players in this country would earn over the course of two seasons. WOLVES legend Carl Ikeme was victorious on his debut in the Raw Grappling Championship. The former goalkeeper was forced to retire from football in 2018 aged just 32 after a year-long battle with cancer. But now four years later the 36-year-old is back in sporting competition - though something very different from the Beautiful Game. Ikeme fought fellow Brit Fuad Ahmed in the first Raw Grappling World Championship at the IndigoO2 Arena in London. The action was streamed on the promotion's YouTube page . The United States has been ordered to lift some sanctions against Iran, in a symbolic victory for Tehran. The United Nations’ top court, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), says anything that has an impact on humanitarian aid and civil aviation safety must be suspended. President Donald Trump has moved to restore tough US sanctions after withdrawing from Tehran’s nuclear accord with world powers. Iran brought its case to The Hague based on the Treaty of Amity, a UN document dating from 1955, well before the 1979 Islamic revolution. What did the court say? In their ruling , the 15-strong panel of judges unanimously dismissed US objections that the court had no jurisdiction. Washington had argued that Iran’s action was a misuse of the court. The ruling also rejected US assurances, given in August, that sanctions would not affect humanitarian conditions.
