It’s A-level results day today and the waiting is finally over for hundreds of students. Teenagers who took their A-levels earlier this summer will find out if they have the grades they need for university, college or the job they have set their heart on. This month a mum told a judge who locked up her son the sentence was "well-deserved" and "you did the right thing". Brett Woodhouse's mum Susan spoke up after Judge John Burgess sent her tearful boy to youth custody for eight months. She said: "He needs a hard shock. I don't think you will see him again. That's what he needed." Woodhouse pleaded guilty to new offences of disqualified driving and using a vehicle without insurance three times, careless driving, dangerous driving and possessing cannabis. The judge confiscated two cars involved in those crimes and imposed a 28-month driving ban. Read the full story here.
