WATCH: ‘What Is A Woman?’ New Trailer For Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh Documentary Revealed | The Daily Wire
“What is a woman?” That is what Daily Wire host Matt Walsh wants to know. It seems like a simple question, yet with today’s gender ideology and activism, getting a clear answer appears elusive. Walsh, a husband, father, host, speaker, and author, travels the country and beyond in a new documentary asking this very question and trying to find a definite answer, only to be met with confusion and hostility from those telling children that they can change their sex. “I sought out experts in every field in the gender theory world — doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, politicians, activists, and transgender people themselves — and I put the question to them directly,” Walsh said. “I found — and you’ll see in the film — their arguments collapsed not with hammer blows or a hard push, but with simple questions, because the core of gender ideology is hollow.” The documentary is available to stream exclusively for Daily Wire members on June 1. The Time Traveler’s Wife: Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat delivers a smart, sensitive romantic drama
SUPPLIED Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife follows a couple whose relationship is tested by involuntary time travel. REVIEW: While some may bridle at yet another TV series based on a book that Hollywood has already had a crack at on the big screen, you have to admit it is a canny and compelling choice of screenwriter. Who better than the man who dragged Doctor Who into the 21st Century and elevated it to one of the most addictive shows on the box – as he first wrote for Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant’s timelords and then oversaw the tenures of Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi – to pen a six-part adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s beloved 2003 sci-fi romance The Time Traveler’s Wife (now streaming on Neon and debuting on Vibe this Thursday)? After all, it was he who created the sparky timey-wimey-blighted love affair between Smith’s Tardis-dweller and Alex Kingston’s magnificent River Song. And helped the phrase, “spoilers sweetie”, … [Read more...] about The Time Traveler’s Wife: Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat delivers a smart, sensitive romantic drama
Friday morning UK news briefing: Britain to send 8,000 troops to Eastern Europe
Britain is sending 8,000 troops to Eastern Europe in one of the largest deployments since the Cold War . Tanks, artillery guns, armoured assault vehicles and aircraft are also being sent to bolster Nato forces, in what Ben Wallace, the Defence Secretary, described as a "show of solidarity and strength". The deployment, intended as a "deterrence of Russian aggression", came on the day a former British soldier became the first UK national confirmed to have been killed in the war in Ukraine. Scott Sibley, 36, an ex-Royal Marine, is thought to have died in Russian shelling in Mykolaiv, in the south of the country. In a tribute, his former regiment said he had "showed Commando spirit until the end" while the devoted father was praised as the "bravest person" by friends and family . Russia fired missiles into the centre of Kyiv as the head of the United Nations visited the city for talks with Volodymyr Zelensky. Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of the capital, said two … [Read more...] about Friday morning UK news briefing: Britain to send 8,000 troops to Eastern Europe
Labour leadership: the runners and riders if Keir Starmer resigns
Sir Keir Starmer's leadership of the Labour party has been plunged into its biggest crisis to date over "beergate". Sir Keir is reportedly considering resigning should he be fined over a curry and beer with Labour staff on the campaign trail in April 2021, when lockdown measures were in force. But who could replace him at the top of the party if he was to step down? The Telegraph looks at the runners and riders. Andy Burnham (3/1) A prominent New Labour figure and a member of Gordon Brown’s cabinet, Mr Burnham is serving a second term as mayor of Greater Manchester. Not currently an MP, he has insisted he will remain in post until May 2024 but did not rule out running for the party leadership after that point. He was defeated in the 2010 and 2015 leadership elections, finishing second in the latter. Mr Burnham accused Boris Johnson of treating northerners as “second-class citizens” during the pandemic, opposing the tiered restrictions imposed on Manchester while … [Read more...] about Labour leadership: the runners and riders if Keir Starmer resigns
Cecil Griffiths: Forgotten athlete gets fitting memorial
By Matt Murray Published 20 hours ago Share close Share page Copy link About sharing He is one of Britain's youngest Olympic champions, but Cecil Griffiths died in poverty, laid to rest in an unmarked grave in London. At 20, the Welsh runner triumphed in the 4 x 400m relay team in the 1920 Antwerp games. Now, after almost 80 years since his death, the Neath gold medallist's grave has a headstone installed. His granddaughter, Vanessa Hanna, wanted to see a fitting memorial at her grandfather's grave before she died. A campaign by Mrs Hanna, who has terminal cancer, moved and inspired a memorial mason in Cardiff to come forward to make and donate the headstone. A ceremony has now been held at the graveside in Edgware, London. 'Robbed' He was viewed as one of the best in the world, but in 1923 the Amateur Athletic Association imposed a lifetime ban on him after … [Read more...] about Cecil Griffiths: Forgotten athlete gets fitting memorial

Friday morning UK news briefing: Fears of HGV nightmare before Christmas
It could be the nightmare before Christmas. Union leaders are set to hold the country to ransom - as they raise the prospect of co-ordinated lorry strikes unless drivers are granted higher pay and better conditions . Unite, the UK's largest union, threatened to launch the biggest HGV walkout since the Winter of Discontent in 1979 by balloting thousands of supermarket and delivery drivers. The Department for Transport accused unions of threatening to "hold Christmas hostage", with a spokesman adding that any mass walkout would "damage the work being done to restore supply chains at this vital time of year". As containers pile up at ports due to a lack of drivers, above, Bill Gardner explains growing fears that Christmas will be afflicted by food shortages . It came as Britain's biggest haulage lobbying group was frozen out of meetings with ministers amid claims it deliberately sparked last month's fuel crisis . Wednesday morning news briefing: UK’s retort to EU trade war threat
Liz Truss has insisted that the UK "will not shy away" from taking action on the Northern Ireland Protocol. The Foreign Secretary last night told Brussels its proposed solutions would make the situation worse after EU leaders threatened a trade war . She is preparing to announce that the UK will unilaterally change parts of the protocol – which defines post-Brexit trading terms between mainland Britain and Northern Ireland – as early as next week. Ministers are expected to point to the impasse over power-sharing in Northern Ireland in the wake of last week's elections as proof that the protocol is unsustainable. There were warnings from the Continent about potential economic consequences if the UK reneges on promises it made in the 2019 Brexit withdrawal agreement. But, as political editor Ben Riley-Smith reports, Ms Truss issued a retort . Meanwhile, Boris Johnson used yesterday's Queen's Speech to say that helping families with the cost of living crunch and … [Read more...] about Wednesday morning news briefing: UK’s retort to EU trade war threat
