THERESA May has snubbed BBC show The Bodyguard - about an ambitious female Home Secretary plotting to get into No10. The PM switched off the Sunday night hit after 20 minutes, saying it was too close to home. Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden have sex as Julia Montague and her married protection officer David Budd after bloody assassination attempt in Bodyguard Speaking during a trade visit to Africa she said: “I watch TV to unwind - I'm not sure a drama about a female Home Secretary is the best way for me to do that." Line of Duty star Keeley Hawes plays the powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague in the steamy political thriller. How about a free day out at Twycross Zoo? The attraction is once again celebrating World Orang Utan Day by allowing free entry for anyone with red hair. This can be natural, dyed or even a wig. Matyas Liptovszky, head of Life Sciences, said: "We want to offer our visitors a free, fun day out for all, but also encourage them to take action in preserving this amazing species. "Since Twycross Zoo opened in 1963, Orang utans have been a key species that we have cared for. "They are among the most intelligent primates, using a variety of tools to forage through enrichment activities and our visitors can witness this first-hand." He added: "World Orang Utan Day is crucial to help us raise awareness about the declining populations caused by poaching, habitat destruction and the illegal pet trade. Fans who buy tickets for Radio 1's Biggest weekend in Swansea on reselling sites have been warned that they won't be able to get into the festival. The news comes after tickets sold out in minutes, leaving thousands of people devastated that they couldn't get their hands on any of the 26,000 allocated per day for the Swansea event. When we talk about the stock market, there's one word that tends to come to mind: volatility. Think about some of the headlines you might have seen over the past few months -- things along the lines of the Dow plunging like crazy and trade war fears shaking investors to their core. It's no wonder that only 54% of the U.S. population owns stocks, despite the fact that they've been a solid moneymaker over time. Of course, not everyone is terrified of the stock market. Among those folks who aren't invested in it, it's fair to say that much of that decision boils down to a lack of funds. But if you are sitting on money to invest and are hesitant to dabble in stocks for fear of losing it, here are a few ways to get past those feelings and make what likely will end up being a very smart financial decision. IMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES. 1. Understand that downturns are normal A big reason so many investors stay away from stocks is that they think the market is too unpredictable. But … [Read more...] about How to Get Over Your Fear of the Stock Market
First, they ditched the music. Now, the Wetherspoon pub chain has decided to leave the world of social media, closing its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts in a move that has – of course – gone viral online. The firm’s boss, Tim Martin, says the decision was made in response to reports about the use of social media to troll MPs and others. He also suggests that closing the accounts will not affect his business “whatsoever” – although one wonders how the decision will change the business for those staff who are presumably employed to run them. There is an obvious irony in Martin worrying about people haranguing public figures when he himself takes every opportunity to have a pop at anyone who opposes Brexit. Martin, one of the few high-profile business figures to back Britain’s EU withdrawal, even used a Wetherspoon trading update to accuse other business leaders and the media of spreading “misinformation” about the … [Read more...] about Is anyone surprised that Tim Martin forced Wetherspoons to get rid of all its social media accounts?
