DOCTORS have saved a 10-month-old girl after she got a wheel from a toy car embedded in her skull. X-ray images show the wheel just millimetres from her brain and doctors say initially feared the toy had caused it damage. The girl’s parents say she accidentally fell on the sharp metal axle while playing at home in Moscow. Shocking pictures show the wheel stuck on the side of her head. Medics at Speransky Children's Hospital No. 9 established that her brain surface was not damaged before removing the toy part using a "special instrument". Surgeon Ruslan Molotov said: “We had to make sure that there were no parts of the object left in the damaged area.” He said she would suffer no lasting damage from the freak accident. Earlier this year, a toddler in the UK was left fighting for her life after she swallowed 14 magnets - thinking they were sweets. Becca McCarthy, who is just 22 months old, swallowed the brightly coloured balls bought from eBay when mum Sam … [Read more...] about Doctors save 10-month-old baby after wheel of toy car impaled her skull & was millimetres away from causing brain damage

How to appeal your HMRC bill if you think the taxman is wrong as MILLIONS still haven’t filed
MILLIONS of Brits could face an extra 5% charge on their self-assessment taxes if they don't settle their bills before the end of this month. HMRC can charge extra interest on self assessment tax that is paid late and can fine taxpayers £100 if they didn't file their return by the end of February, but you can appeal if you disagree with the taxman. Most workers have their tax paid through their employer but if you are self-employed, or have untaxed income such as investments, you need to complete a tax return each year. The self-assessment tax filing deadline was pushed back earlier this year from January 31 to February 28 due to the pandemic but any tax owed still had to be paid and there are interest charges if you are late. An HMRC spokesman told The Sun that there were still 1.1million returns outstanding out of 12.1million as of the start of March, although there is no breakdown of how many haven't filed and how many haven't paid. Taxpayers can still be charged … [Read more...] about How to appeal your HMRC bill if you think the taxman is wrong as MILLIONS still haven’t filed

WHEN Peter Bleksley saw the e-fit come to life, he knew he'd got his hands on a new weapon in his hunt for one of Britain's most wanted fugitives: Kevin Parle. The veteran sleuth has been scouring the globe for Parle for two years to make him answer the charges against him – which include the murders of a child and an innocent young mum-of-three. Cops believe Parle was involved in both killings and he'd even been arrested in connection with Liam's murder, but he was released on bail – and he's been on the run ever since . Peter Bleksley, a former Met copper who was the star of Channel 4's Hunted , has now made it his mission to track Parle down and bring him to justice.
