THE Best of Top Gear is airing on BBC Two tonight (January 13), featuring classic moments from Matt LeBlanc, Rory Reid and Chris Harris. But, where is the Top Gear track, and what are the filming locations for the new series? Let's get the lowdown... The Top Gear test track is located on a former Royal Canadian Air Force at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, United Kingdom, and was designed by Lotus Cars as a testing facility, with many of its Formula One cars tested there. Top Gear mainly uses the track for Power Laps and the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment. According to the BBC, the track "is designed to test cars to their very limits. It includes a range of corners, from the slow technically challenging Hammerhead to the fast and terrifying Follow-Through, to expose any weakness in a car's chassis." HE won the Ashes, captained his country and has an MBE — but Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff’s dream career is only just revving up. The bowler turned game- show favourite has to pinch himself when he walks on to an airfield and sees the fleet of supercars he is being paid to thrash about in. For the Lancashire lad, becoming the new face of Top Gear alongside comic Paddy McGuinness is as good as pulling on the whites for England. But his driving record is far from clean, having been hauled before court at least five times for speeding. During one brush with the law in 2014, he escaped a ban for driving his £150,000 Bentley at 87mph after claiming losing his licence would affect charity work. Seven years before, he was caught by a speed camera doing almost 90mph in a 50mph zone — but was acquitted after a prosecution notice was sent two days too late. Freddie, who currently has three points on his licence and is described by pals as a “speed … [Read more...] about Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff says he’s perfect for Top Gear… as he’s been done for speeding

I just can’t do it. “I don’t want my awkwardness to be a let-down. I’ll defo be getting some tips for it.” Paddy and cricket legend Andrew Flintoff are to be the next hosts of the show, replacing Matt LeBlanc, 51, after the next series. Jason Manford reveals awkward moment he quoted Friends to Matt LeBlanc during Top Gear appearance He said he was no longer “comfortable” splitting his time between the US and the UK. His daughter Marina, 14, lives in the States with her mum, LeBlanc’s ex-wife Melissa McKnight, 53. In addition, his US sitcom Man With A Plan was renewed for a third series. But a Top Gear source said: “The show will now struggle to remain relevant without a big name at the helm.
