Neymar led Paris Saint-Germain's title celebrations, but fans of the French champions have stayed away as their protest against the club continues. PSG made sure of the title over the weekend , but their success came in less-than-convincing circumstances. Lionel Messi gave Mauricio Pochettino's side the lead against 10-man Lens at the Parc des Princes, but their depleted opponents still found an equaliser to ensure the spoils were shared on Saturday night. The game was notable for boos directed at Pochettino before kick-off, with reports suggesting the manager could still be sacked despite the title win. Supporters walked out in protest despite PSG reclaiming the Ligue 1 title - having finished runners-up behind Lille in 2021 - but the players still had time to celebrate. It was a fourth Ligue 1 title for Neymar since his world record move from Barcelona in 2017, though the Brazilian missed a chunk of the season through injury. The 30-year-old has just 11 goals in all … [Read more...] about Inside PSG’s private title celebrations led by Neymar as Lionel Messi nowhere to be seen

More Bad Netflix News: 150 Jobs Were Just Slashed
Yikes. Photo: Bing Guan/Bloomberg via Getty Images At this point, it’s not fair to say Netflix can’t catch a break; it’s more like Netflix is actively smashing breaks on the floor in a frantic effort to appease shareholders. Deadline first reported that the troubled media giant is eliminating 150 jobs as of May 17, many of them higher-up roles in original-content programming. “As we explained on earnings, our slowing revenue growth means we are also having to slow our cost growth as a company,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “So sadly, we are letting around 150 employees go today, mostly U.S.-based.” The Netflix spokesperson said the company is “working hard” to support those laid off “through this very difficult transition.” Among the more senior staff let go this round, according to Deadline, are the directors of Netflix original series, original comedy series, and spectacle and event TV. Vulture has reached out for a statement. The layoffs follow those in the … [Read more...] about More Bad Netflix News: 150 Jobs Were Just Slashed

Two-Card Monte: Why Mastercard And Visa Rarely Shut Down Scammers Who Are Ripping Off Consumers
Paul Paolucci, the top cop for one of the world’s biggest credit card companies, sure had some interesting friends. One made a fortune fronting for pornography websites that needed access to Mastercard’s and Visa’s payment networks. Paolucci, who oversaw Mastercard’s merchant fraud control, was photographed cavorting around the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel with him and a group of women in white corset minidresses. A second was a Lamborghini-driving e-commerce mogul with whom Paolucci used to celebrate family holidays. The mogul ended up in prison for a financial crime he committed, in part, using Mastercard’s network. An executive at a famously corrupt European bank claimed to have dined with Paolucci and gotten his help evading Mastercard’s regulations. It was Paolucci’s job to make sure that the banks and companies using Mastercard’s network were playing by the rules. He bent those rules himself by getting close to the very kinds of high-risk businesses he was supposed to be … [Read more...] about Two-Card Monte: Why Mastercard And Visa Rarely Shut Down Scammers Who Are Ripping Off Consumers
‘Historic moment’: Finland and Sweden submit their bids to join NATO
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg hailed an "historic moment" on Wednesday after Finland and Sweden formally submitted their applications to join the military alliance. The seismic shift from long-held neutrality -- which has popular support in both countries -- was spurred by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. “I warmly welcome the requests by Finland and Sweden to join NATO. You are our closest partners,“ Stoltenberg said. “All allies agree on the importance of NATO enlargement. We all agree that we must stand together, and we all agree that this is an historic moment which we must seize.” “This is a good day at a critical moment for our security,” a beaming Stoltenberg said, as he stood alongside Finland's and Sweden's ambassadors to NATO. Russian President Vladimir Putin has demanded the alliance stop expanding toward Russia's borders, and several NATO allies, led by the United States and Britain, have signalled that they stand ready to provide security … [Read more...] about ‘Historic moment’: Finland and Sweden submit their bids to join NATO
[Read more...] about Svezia e Finlandia pronte per l’adesione alla Nato. Turchia contraria

Nintendo Switch Sports Review: Motion controlled madness returns in a fun but fleeting sporting title
Nintendo’s "Sports'' series is finally back in motion after 15 years with the new Nintendo Switch Sports. The new sports-themed motion-controlled game tries to build on the success of the 2006 game that pioneered motion controls - the Nintendo Wii hit, Wii Sports. The original Wii Sports was made up of simple sports minigames that demonstrated brand new motion-controlled technology, using the player's movements to correspond with actions in-game. This not only proved fun and hilarious to watch, but it also lowered the entry requirements for more casual gamers causing a huge surge in the popularity of the seventh-generation console it was bundled with. ( Image: Nintendo) Wii Sports only had 5 games, while Wii Resort had 12. Switch Sports sees some new and some returning games to the simple formula with six games: Volleyball, Soccer, Badminton, Tennis, Bowling, and Chambara, with Golf also being added later in Autumn. The graphics are clean looking and colourful but … [Read more...] about Nintendo Switch Sports Review: Motion controlled madness returns in a fun but fleeting sporting title
Honor X8 Review: A Smartphone with an awesome screen and battery life for a phenomenal price
Honor started out as the little brother to Chinese tech giant Huawei, but has become more well established in the west since being independent of Huawei back in 2020. But it isn’t a flagship phone, nor is it trying to be. The X8 is a mid-range/budget smartphone that features a strange blend of advanced and more modest specs. The Honor X8 is a really nice looking device ( Image: Honor) Honor makes some pretty clean and nice-looking devices and the X8 is no exception, at first glance it really doesn't look like a budget phone that dreams of being a flagship. It has a chunky look due to its flat-edge design and rounded corners on all four sides, which I really liked the look of, and that made it feel slightly more premium. The X8 felt a little large in my hand at 163mm x 74.7mm x 7.5mm with most of that taken up by that screen. It’s light at 177g as well as thin, but this is also reflected in its build quality with a glass front, plastic frame and plastic back. While … [Read more...] about Honor X8 Review: A Smartphone with an awesome screen and battery life for a phenomenal price
