Equatorial Guinea: At least 20 killed in explosions after ‘negligent handling of dynamite’ at military base

At least 20 people have been killed after a series of large explosions at a military base in the city of Bata in Equatorial Guinea. More than 400 people were also injured in the explosions at the military barracks in the Mondong Nkuantoma neighbourhood. In a statement on national television, president Teodoro Obiang said the blasts were caused by "negligent handling of dynamite" at the base. The health ministry said medics are treating the injured at the site, but it is feared people are missing under the rubble. TVGE news channel called on people to donate blood and said hospitals in the Central African nation were full of people injured in the explosions. Advertisement A doctor calling into TVGE, who went by his first name, Florentino, said the situation was a "moment of crisis" and that hospitals were overcrowded. He said a sports centre set up for COVID-19 patients would be used to receive minor cases. ZOELLA has announced that she is expecting her first child with her partner Alfie Deyes. The 30-year-old shared the “super exciting news” with her nine million followers on Instagram today. The blogger, real name Zoe Sugg, shared a video of herself flashing her growing bump followed by footage of her first sonogram. It also saw dad-to-be Alfie holding a babygrow printed with the words, "Milking it." Captioning her post she wrote: “We’re super excited to share with you, that our baby girl will be joining us in September.” The post received over 200,000 likes within the first half an hour with the vlogging couple receiving thousands of congratulations messages from well-wishers. All they needed was Saturday Night Takeaway ’s Read My Lips game, a pair of headphones to muffle the noise and some bloke in Llanelli called Jamie bellowing mystery food items at Gordon via Zoom. “Sushi. Austria SUSPENDS jabs with batch of Astra-Zeneca vaccine after one person died and another fell ill after taking the shots

Austria has suspended vaccinations with a batch of AstraZeneca's coronavirus jabs as a precaution following the death of one person and the illness of another after the shots. A 49-year-old woman died as a result of severe coagulation disorders, while another 35-year-old woman developed a pulmonary embolism, an acute lung disease caused by a dislodged blood clot, and is recovering, the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) said. The agency confirmed it had received two reports 'in a temporal connection' with a vaccine from the same batch in the district clinic of Zwettl, Lower Austria. A batch of AstraZeneca has been suspended after Austrian authorities were informed of the death of a 49-year-old woman as well as another woman who developed a pulmonary embolism.
