A UKRAINIAN refugee at the centre of a bitter love triangle broke down in tears yesterday — and insisted: “I’m no homewrecker.” Sofiia Karkadym, 22, moved in with Tony Garnett, 29, and his missus Lorna after they offered to sponsor her UK stay. Ten days later, Lorna, 28, accused the blonde IT worker of setting her sights on her man. Sofiia packed her bags, but Lorna was left heartbroken after security guard Tony followed her out of the door. Sofiia, who fled Lviv and crossed to Poland as war with Russia raged, told The Sun: “I am not a homewrecker. That’s b*****t. “I never thought or planned to go into their home and take Tony from Lorna. Tyson Fury forced into change in corner for Dillian Whyte world title fight
Tyson Fury will be without regular cutman Jacob 'Stitch' Duran when he faces Dillian Whyte for the world heavyweight title later this month. The legendary cornerman will be unable to travel for the fight, and has been replaced with one of Britain's most renowned cutmen Frank Hopkins. The Portsmouth native was put forward as a suggestion for Fury's corner by promoter Frank Warren, who has worked with Hopkins on a number of occasions. Fury was joined by Duran in the corner for his last two fights with Deontay Wilder after switching up his training camp to join with the Kronk Gym's SugarHill Steward. But he will be without the American for his first bout on UK soil since 2018 when he faces Whyte on April 23. Legal smoking age could rise to 21 after ‘radical’ review
The legal age for smoking could be increased to 21 under plans drawn up by order of Sajid Javid, the Health Secretary, amid hopes that less than five per cent of Britons will smoke by 2030. A “radical” independent review commissioned by Mr Javid is expected to report in the coming weeks and will recommend that the legal age to purchase cigarettes is increased and new taxes are slapped on tobacco company profits, The Telegraph understands. The report, drawn up by a former charity boss, is also likely to recommend that the NHS does more to push vaping and e-cigarettes to smokers , especially pregnant mothers. Mr Javid, who quit smoking when he became Health Secretary last year , supports major reforms to the Government’s policy on tobacco, including stricter controls on sale. Javed Khan, the review’s author, is a former CEO of Barnardo’s and has previously said he supports a “polluter pays” principle that would charge tobacco companies for the cost of anti-smoking … [Read more...] about Legal smoking age could rise to 21 after ‘radical’ review

Part of being a friend is helping them out when they need a favour and offering emotional support when they’re going through a tough time. But a friendship is a two-way process and you both need to be there for each other, or else it can feel like you’re being exploited. One woman found just that when her “close friend” started asking too many favours. She took to Mumsnet to ask for advice as she didn’t know how to resolve the situation. No UK fracking this year as Yorkshire legal challenge drags on
Britain’s efforts to get fracking for shale gas have suffered a fresh delay after it emerged a legal challenge against the only approved project will not be heard until the end of November. Shale explorer Third Energy had hoped it might start work at its Kirby Misperton site in North Yorkshire as soon as the end of this year , after getting planning consent in May. But green groups Friends of the Earth and Frack Free Ryedale sought a judicial review of North Yorkshire County Council’s decision, claiming councillors failed to assess the impact of the project on climate change and assess financial safeguards against environmental damage. A date has now been set to hear the challenge on November 22 and 23 – later than had been expected. It is understood that even if the challenge is dismissed there is now no chance of Third Energy fracking this year and work may not get underway until well into 2017. Only once the legal challenge is resolved can the company get final … [Read more...] about No UK fracking this year as Yorkshire legal challenge drags on
