Former PM Tony Blair has compared the negotiations between the USA and the UK over a potential trade deal to Newcastle United taking on Manchester City - calling it an 'unequal match'. The Newcastle United fan was making a speech on Brexit when he began discussing the potential agreement between America and the UK - something US President Donald Trump has promised will be 'fantastic and big.' Blair initially referenced any talks between the two countries, as like 'Man City playing Port Vale', remarking it was an 'unequal match' before quickly swapping Port Vale to Newcastle. Tony Blair will warn Labour they should not agree to an emergency election until after Brexit is resolved. In a speech the former Labour PM will brand the idea of a pre-Brexit election an “elephant trap” set by Number 10. He will say Tory Brexiteers are “laying a trap, to seem as if pushed into an election against their will, when they're actively preparing for it". The former Deputy Prime Minister and Hull East Labour MP was rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary on Friday after suffering a stroke, with his family breaking the news on the politician’s Twitter account on Monday morning. The news was released via a written statement at 11.30am, and within half an hour Lord Prescott had received hundreds of well-wishing messages.
