Picture: ARCHANT Archant Communities in a mid-Norfolk town have issued a rallying cry to get its “dangerous” transport infrastructure right before it is too late. Led by Jonathan Manning, a senior planning inspector, the meeting was one in a series being held over a seven week period to discuss the council’s Emerging Local Plan and to allow residents to examine the draft. Breckland Local Plan was submitted for examination on November 30 last year and Mr Manning was appointed by the Secretary of State to carry out an independent examination. In favour of the Glavenhill Strategic Land application off Shipdham Road, Westfield Road and Westfield Lane were: Sharpe (Ashill), Joel (Buckenhams & Banham), Brame (Thetford), Wilkinson (Nar Valley) and Bowes (Watton). Voting for refusal of the application were: Clarke (Dereham Withburga), Duigan (Dereham Toftwood), Richmond (Dereham Neatherd), M Chapman-Allen (Guiltcross) and Martin (Attleborough). Photo: Denise Bradley Dereham Town Council has carried out a new traffic survey using, for the first time, automatic number plate recognition to accurately track vehicle movements. It says it proves that drivers are choosing to use the A47 junctions at Fen Road and Draytonhall Lane, known accident blackspots, rather than experience the congestion around the Tavern Lane signalised junctions.
