To have no idea
WHILE some may think that hiding your favourite biscuit stash in a faux plug is a genius idea, others are seriously concerned by the idea as one woman's video on TikTok has proven. TikTok user @hatoes shared a video showing the clever way she likes to hide her Oreos in a secret drawer from everybody else in her house. At first glance it looks like your ordinary plug socket, but if you tried to use it to plug something in, you'd soon work out it was actually a fake. Instead, it holds a secret lock to a hidden drawer that can only be opened with a key, with the woman, known as Hattie, demonstrating online. "Just remembered this exists," she said, as she filmed herself opening the hidden nook and filled it with packets of biscuits. Hattie joked: "No one can still my Oreos now." Is it brilliant? Yes, but her secret drawer also proved to be slightly problematic too. It's common knowledge that you shouldn't stick anything in a plug socket as you can get an electric … [Read more...] about Woman reveals secret plug socket drawer where she hides her biscuit stash, but not everyone’s a fan
The Dragons were back in the den and ready to splash the cash on a budding entrepreneur with a profitable idea on Thursday evening. Waiting to hear the business proposals were Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Tej Lalvani, Sara Davies and Touker Suleyman, who were ready to open the cheque book and bag themselves an investment. Walking in with her pet pooch was Glasgow-based natural pet foods entrepreneur Dom Hogan. Lockdown had seen a boom in sales for her doggy treats and Dom was looking to attract a Dragon with 10 per cent of the business for £50,000. It didn't look like it would be a promising start as Dom admitted before walking out to the Dragons: "I wasn't planning on starting a business and I still don't really know what I am doing but it is going from strength to strength and a bit crazy." She wanted to get her nutritional pet treats to a wider market but continually admitted to the investors that she was "not a businesswoman" and that she needed a "mentor" to point … [Read more...] about Dragons’ Den viewers gobsmacked by investment after ‘dog’s dinner of a pitch’
WITH Mystic Meg-like foresight, David Cameron once predicted that political lobbying would be “the next big scandal waiting to happen”. It was 2009 and the then Tory leader hit out at the “far-too-cosy relationship between politics, government, business and money”, which he said had “tainted our politics for too long”. Now, the skies above Cameron’s shepherd’s hut in the Cotswolds are dark with the chickens coming home to roost. Instead of chillaxing with “his trotters up” — as EastEnders star Danny Dyer once memorably accused him of doing — Cameron is embroiled in the very scandal he predicted. The ex-Prime Minister stands accused of using his old contacts in government — notably the now Chancellor, Rishi Sunak — to try and get hundreds of millions in taxpayer-funded loans for a company he worked for. Mr Cameron had shares in the financial services firm Greensill Capital that he reportedly hoped could net him a £43million windfall. Accusations of Tory … [Read more...] about Will Greensill lobby scandal turn Heir to Blair into Dodgy Dave?
