Paris restaurant busted with over 110 diners despite lockdown

Paris authorities put an end to a gathering of over 110 diners at an underground restaurant in defiance of coronavirus restrictions, authorities said on Saturday. The incident came as investigators are probing underground dining soirees amid rumors that French ministers were also among the guests. French police said on Twitter they were responding to "an excessive noise complaint about a restaurant" late Friday. "Guests fined for failing to respect applicable health measures," police said, adding that they arrested the event organizer and the restaurant manager. In recent weeks, local media reported that several underground restaurants were hosting wealthy people for a pre-COVID dining experience as France battles a rise of coronavirus infections. A BRIDE is raging after receiving a thank-you basket of food from a wedding guest, which she claimed wasn’t enough after she forked out £118-a-head. The Canadian bride, Laura, fumed that she was left out of pocket by the gift, from a woman named Kathy, which was a hamper containing sweets, biscuits and marshmallows. Laura sent an icy thank-you message to Kathy, and pointed out most people give cash at weddings. Northern Ireland: Violence continues another night after leaders condemn ‘unjustifiable’ unrest

Violence continued late Thursday in Northern Ireland as police deployed water cannons against demonstrators. Around 100 youths approached armored vehicles in an Irish nationalist area of Belfast and threw stones at authorities. The crowd was later dispersed by riot police. Earlier in the day, Northern Ireland's power-sharing executive held an emergency meeting to condemn violent unrest in a pro-British area of Belfast. An outbreak of violence late Wednesday had left at least 50 police officers injured as crowds of mostly young men set a bus on fire with petrol bombs. "Destruction, violence and the threat of violence are completely unacceptable and unjustifiable, no matter what concerns may exist in communities," the executive said in a statement. Prince Charles says he misses his ‘dear Papa’ Prince Philip in emotional tribute

Grieving Prince Charles has paid tribute to his "dear Papa" Prince Philip in a moving message. The Prince of Wales said he, the Queen and the rest of the royal family "miss him enormously", describing him as a "much loved and appreciated figure". Charles said the kind messages and reaction from members of the public will "sustain" the family through the "particularly sad time". Charles recorded a message at Highgrove House, his 18th century residence near Tetbury in Gloucestershire this afternoon. He wore a blue suit with a black tie to deliver the moving message.
