DEADLY diseases with the potential to cause a pandemic even worse than Covid-19 have been named in a chilling new report. CEPI, founded by Bill Gates, has warned the world's leading authorities that serious action must be taken if we are to prevent an even deadlier disease from sweeping through the globe. In just over a year, Covid-19 has infected around 122 million people around the world, killing nearly 2.7 million. And its impact is still being felt around the world, with countries such as Brazil and Italy experiencing new waves of coronavirus . But if we do not act soon then another perhaps even deadlier pandemic could be just around the corner. Any of these could be the next Covid-19 or worse CEPI The CEPI report has outlined 16 newly emerging disease as well as 27 re-emerging diseases which all have pandemic potential. The report also highlights other coronaviruses known to us such as SARS and MERS as a significant recurrent pandemic … [Read more...] about Eye-bleeding fever to explosive diarrhoea – Bill Gates’ group warns of 16 diseases that could spark pandemic after Covid

Covid lockdown a year on: How March 2020 went from complacency to chaos, day by day
It's a year this week since Britain plunged into the most drastic restrictions on everyday life since the Second World War. Lockdown and furlough were words that had barely entered our vocabulary. For days, even weeks, Boris Johnson resisted shutting down the country even as closures were spreading in Europe. He did not even attend his first COBRA meeting until March 2, after missing all those in the earlier part of 2020. In some ways, hindsight is a wonderful thing. But there's now little doubt the science changed drastically, and the political decisions were not quick enough in catching up. Scientists have since said locking down earlier could have saved many thousands of lives. Here we look … [Read more...] about Covid lockdown a year on: How March 2020 went from complacency to chaos, day by day
Cara Delevingne releases new single for Valerian soundtrack – but can she sing?
Cara Delevingne has added another title to her prolific CV, going from model to actor, to writer, and now musician. It has been a common career trajectory for those in the entertainment industry for decades, with many showbiz stars navigating freely between modelling, acting and singing. Jennifer Lopez did it. In Luc Besson's latest comic book fiasco Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, the French director cast Delevingne and Rihanna - two very familiar faces with very little training. Advertisement Delevingne stars as Laureline, Valerian's partner in policing the universe, while Rihanna is cabaret performer … [Read more...] about Cara Delevingne releases new single for Valerian soundtrack – but can she sing?
