FLIGHT cancellations and airport chaos are ruining foreign holidays for thousands of Brits this summer. However, holidaymakers don't have to go abroad in order to soak up the sun. Some recent research has revealed the best places to visit in the UK in order to avoid the rain , as well as the travel disruption. The list, produced by Evans Halshaw, was created after analysing weather data for over 1,000 popular UK holiday destinations , in order to work out where has the most hours of sunlight. The analysis considered the weather during April, July and October. Coming out in joint top spot, with an average of 194 hours of 16C sun per month, were Bognor Regis in Sussex and Folkestone in Kent. BRITAIN could reach 35C right in time for the school holidays. It means families may be enjoying the soaring temperatures within less than a month. Most schools in England and Wales will be splitting up for the summer holidays by July 22. And experts are suggesting the heat may climb to 35C in time for this date. The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said he wouldn’t be surprised if we got 35C, but the Met Office reckons the weather will be 30C. Brits are set for a two-day heatwave as the Met Office has issued a heat alert for "dangerous" 34C weather . The Met Office has issued a 'heat health alert', warning large swathes of England to be prepared as temperatures are set to rocket so high they could set a record for the hottest day in June since records began. Parts of the South East, South and London could reach temperatures hotter than Portugal, Jamaica, Costa Rica, the Canary Islands and Cyprus. Friday especially is set to be a scorcher and expected to be the hottest day of the year so far, eclipsing by some way the 27.5C set in mid-May. It could even be the hottest June day for the UK since records began, if temperatures top the 35.6C recorded in Southampton in 1976. UK weather forecast: 4 inches of snow to hit TODAY with drivers warned of travel chaos
FOUR inches of snow will hit today as Brits battle freezing conditions. A yellow weather warning is in place in some parts of the UK, with drivers warned of imminent travel chaos amid the frosty blitz. The Met Office issued the alert for Scotland, affecting north-eastern areas from 6am until 10pm. It warns up to four inches will settle on higher ground, with around two inches expected in lower regions as the day progresses. A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Persistent rain over northern Scotland will increasingly turn to snow over high ground during Tuesday morning, then to lower levels by the afternoon." Man’s giant agonising blisters ‘size of golf balls’ from UK’s most DANGEROUS plant
A welder has been left with huge blisters the size of golf balls and unable to walk after coming into contact with "Britain's most dangerous plant". Nick Sherratt, 53, said the giant hogweed he touched left him in so much pain that "if somebody came with a hacksaw, I would have gladly said please take it off". Nick said he accidently touched the plant when he slipped off a footpath at Porthjoke Beach in Cornwall leading down to the sands. But he felt nothing at the time. The following morning however, Nick woke and started vomiting and had a soaring fever and the shakes. UK weather forecast: Temperatures to halve to 15C as UK battered by ‘unseasonal’ winds
Some parts of Britain could see temperatures slide from 30C to just 15C in little over a week as a huge cyclone could cast a cloud over the start of Wimbledon . The recent heatwave has seen the mercury soar but weather experts fear the sweltering conditions are going to be a distant memory once the new week gets up and running.
