The soapy divorce drama reached its penultimate episode with shock revelations, surprise reunions and rather a lot of wine. Liar Nathan’s pants were on fire Oh Nathan, you’ve really blown it now. Nathan Stern (Stephen Mangan) didn’t just make a tipsy lunge at sister-in-law Nina (Annabel Scholey) but was on the leaked membership list of extramarital dating site Indiana Ray. Or as wife Hannah (Nicola Walker) spat, their children’s “sad sack of a dad” was part of the “sleazy news story” alongside a sadly unnamed “talent show mogul”. Red wine-guzzling, increasingly shifty Nathan insisted he never went on any dates. However, armed with that social media snap of him eating mussels in Brussels and aided by a private investigator, Hannah steadily picked holes in his story. OK, he looked at some women’s profiles but they were no match for Hannah. OK, he did go on one date but they had dinner and … [Read more...] about The Split, episode 5 recap: this show is chock full of infidelity, but could we still get a happy ending next week?

Garry O’Prey was one of three people arrested on February 15 in an intelligence-led operation on the A90, near the Swallow roundabout, Dundee Sheriff Court heard. BABY Alfie Evans won a dramatic reprieve tonight following intervention from The Pope and an MEP. It means that the hospital keeping him alive on a ventilator will be unable to switch it off, which it had planned to do tomorrow, it was reported. The intervention means there will now be a series of meetings over the next few days to discuss the best alternatives for the 21-month old infant’s future. Steven Woolfe, MEP for North West England, visited Alfie at his bedside and later spoke to officials at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool. Afterwards he hinted that the infant could be treated overseas in a post on Twitter. “Just had a meeting at Alder Hey with Alfie’s parents. Hospital agreed not to end Alfie’s life today and will consider the alternative options we presented, including for Alfie to receive treatment available in Italy,” he boasted.
