Mauricio Pochettino is keen on making a swift return to management following his sacking by Paris Saint-Germain. The 50-year-old was given his marching orders despite leading the French giants to the Ligue title last season, ultimately paying the price for their Champions League demise against Real Madrid . Pochettino has retained the home he owned during his time in charge of the north London club and was considering returning to Spurs last season having maintained his relationship with Daniel Levy. The Spurs chairman eventually opted to hire Antonio Conte instead, while Pochettino was also overlooked for the Manchester United job which eventually went to Erik ten Hag. Despite those setback, Pochettino is keen on a return to England but would, according to The Sun , never manage Arsenal were the … [Read more...] about Mauricio Pochettino wants Premier League return but rules out joining one club

Novak Djokovic overcomes plucky Centre Court test to reach Wimbledon quarter-finals
NOVAK DJOKOVIC was given a surprise scare last night - by an unseeded wild card known as Dutch Tim. But the defending champion eventually showed his class against Wimbledon debutant Tim van Rijthoven to win 6-2 4-6 6-1 6-2. Centre Court rang out with cries of "Come on Tim" that hadn't been heard so often here since the days of Tim Henman as the locals took the little-known 25-year-old to heart. Van Rijthoven, whose career has been plagued by injury, is the first wild card to make it this far since 2015 and the world number 104 earned plenty of new fans with his plucky play. He broke six-time champion Djokovic's serve after an epic second-set rally on his way to levelling the match at one set apiece. But the top-seeded Serb roared back to win five games in a row on his way to clinching the third set, before squeezing over the line just before the 11pm curfew. Former world champion Wladimir Klitschko retires from boxing
Former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko says he has retired from boxing with immediate effect. It means there will not be a rematch with British fighter Anthony Joshua, who defeated the Ukrainian at Wembley Stadium in April. The bout was stopped in the 11th round after Joshua knocked out his 41-year-old opponent, adding the WBA and IBO titles to his IBF crown. Klitschko hangs up his gloves as one of the all-time boxing greats after a nine-and-a-half year reign as champion. He had been considering a lucrative second clash with Joshua, possibly in Las Vegas in November. Cameron Norrie relegated to court one for Wimbledon quarter-final due to SW19 rule change
British number one Cameron Norrie will be forced to play his Wimbledon quarter-final on court one rather than the centre court. The 26-year-old booked his spot in the last eight with a straight sets win over 30th seed Tommy Paul and became the first brit since Andy Murray to do so. The last remaining Brit in the draw will not be given the honour of playing on Wimbledon’s biggest showcourt as defending champion Djokovic has been given the men’s quarter-final slot on as he faces 10th seed Jannik Sinner. It comes after the tournament scrapped individual days for the men’s and women’s quarter-finals this year. Traditionally, the second Tuesday of The Championships was reserved for the women’s quarter-finals, with the men’s quarters taking place the following day. But ahead of this year’s tournament, it was announced there would instead be one men’s match and one women’s on centre and court one spread across the two days, before the women’s semi-finals were held on the … [Read more...] about Cameron Norrie relegated to court one for Wimbledon quarter-final due to SW19 rule change
