Rose West's driving role in one of the most disturbing cases in British criminal history has finally been exposed. Sir Trevor McDonald investigated the couple in an explosive documentary and revisited the 'house of horrors' site on 25 Cromwell Street - where Fred and Rose West buried the victims. In tonight's documentary, which was dramatically pulled from the air last month before being rescheduled, Rose's part in the murder and torture of 12 women and young girls was revealed. Author Howard Sounes said: "The world thinks of Mrs West as this frumpy middle aged housewife but she was this pretty teenage girl when the murders began." Cross the Channel to the European mainland, keep going in any direction and it’ll be a long time before you find anyone with their steering wheel on the same side of the car (the right) as in the UK. However, if you head across the Irish Sea to the Republic of Ireland you’ll find they drive on the same side of the road as us. 35% of the world drive on the left Taking the world as a whole, around 35% of the world’s population drives on the left. It might not surprise you to know that many of the other countries that do are former … [Read more...] about Why do we drive on the left and who else does?
