Sir Bradley Wiggins believes Ineos Grenadiers should throw their full support behind Geraint Thomas at the Tour de France , though conceded it is unlikely his former team-mate can win a second yellow jersey. Thomas, who won the Tour in 2018, was named in the British squad's eight-man team on Tuesday, and will share leadership duties with Daniel Martínez of Colombia and Bury-born Adam Yates. Wiggins, however, insists the Welshman deserves to be the team's outright leader at the Tour, which starts in Denmark on July 1 . In the absence of an obvious challenger to defending champion Tadej Pogacar and his Slovenian compatriot Primoz Roglic, who will arrive in Copenhagen in fine form having won this month's Critérium du Dauphiné , Ineos Grenadiers will start the race with multiple leaders. “In Adam, Dani and Geraint we have three fantastic GC [general classification] heavyweights who can mount a real challenge. They have proved their form across the season and are lining up … [Read more...] about Sir Bradley Wiggins: Ineos Grenadiers must back ‘leader’ Geraint Thomas at Tour de France

Geraint Thomas interview: ‘I just thought why me, what have I done to deserve this?’
The fact that Geraint Thomas is fourth favourite with the bookies to win the 109th Tour de France, which begins in Copenhagen on Friday - behind only Slovenians Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic, and last year’s runner-up Jonas Vingegaard - is, frankly, pretty extraordinary when you consider where the Welshman was six months ago. Crashes at last year’s Tour de France and then, in quick succession, the Tokyo Olympics, derailed Thomas’ 2021 season. Heading into the winter, the 36 year-old was struggling both mentally and physically. Negotiations with Ineos Grenadiers over a new contract were dragging, his shoulder needed surgery. And then he got Covid at Christmas. “It was definitely the hardest time of my career looking back,” says Thomas, speaking from his hotel room after his final pre-Tour training ride on Thursday. “It was just one thing after the other. Obviously the summer was hard. I committed so much to last year’s Tour, spent so much time away from Sa and Macs [wife Sara … [Read more...] about Geraint Thomas interview: ‘I just thought why me, what have I done to deserve this?’

Meghan Markle bullying verdict bashed: ‘What’s the point?’
Critics and experts have banded together to snub Meghan Markle’s bullying probe for being ‘senseless’. The clap back has been issued by a source close to The Telegraph. They went as far as to accuse the entire investigation of being ‘senseless’ and ‘of no use’. Others were ‘boiling’ with rage over why the results have been buried. For those unversed, prior to Meghan Markle’s admissions about bullying within the Firm, she was accused of forcing two personal assistants out of a job. This uproar began a few days after a Palace source announced, “We recognise that those people who participated in the review participated on understanding there would be confidentiality in discussions with an independent legal firm.” “We have a duty to respect that confidentiality. The objectives have been satisfied because lessons have been learned.” … [Read more...] about Meghan Markle bullying verdict bashed: ‘What’s the point?’

Meghan Markle has come under fire for mothering and smothering Prince Harry since Megxit. YouTube’s Body Language Guy, Jesús Enrique Rosas made this revelation in a new video. He referenced Prince Harry’s polo match in the admission and claimed, “Harry was talking to one of the attendants at the polo match, two things happened here.” “First Meghan and Harry’s bodyguard gets in the middle of the conversation, and right at the same time, Meghan who is holding his hand, pulls him away from the conversation.” Before concluding he also added, “Meghan made Harry break any contact with the person he is talking to, like a mother telling his son they are ready to go.” … [Read more...] about Meghan Markle ‘mothering and smothering’ Prince Harry?

This looks like the endgame. A group of Cabinet ministers - including the new Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi - are planning to confront Boris Johnson this evening and tell him that he must step down as Prime Minister. The Telegraph understands that Brandon Lewis, the Northern Ireland Secretary, Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, and Simon Hart, the Welsh Secretary, are among those who are preparing to make the intervention . Mr Zahawi is also understood to be involved, with the push against the Prime Minister being coordinated by Chief Whip Chris Heaton-Harris. Donald Trump might announce 2024 run much earlier than he would like
Strong speculation that Donald Trump may be on the verge of confirming his intentions to run again in 2024 is raising questions as to whether it is still too early for him to declare. The former president is reported to be desperate to divert attention away from the damning January 6 hearing by announcing he will be vying for the White House for the third time. The speculation increased in the wake of the damning June 28 testimony of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who said Trump was aware that his supporters were armed on January 6 but he still ordered them to the Capitol, and that he tried to grab the steering wheel of the presidential SUV as he was so desperate to join the riot as it was unfolding. Trump may also be wanting to take the increasing limelight from Ron DeSantis with an announcement, as polls, bookmakers and donors increasingly believe the Florida governor is the person who should lead the GOP into 2024. While reports Trump wants to be president … [Read more...] about Donald Trump might announce 2024 run much earlier than he would like
