According to figures from UK Finance, cash accounted for just 28% of payments last year, with one in ten of us choosing to live an almost entirely cashless life. Heinz to launch ‘Mayochup’ in the UK this month – but it will be called ‘Saucy Sauce’
HEINZ is finally launching its “Mayochup” sauce in the UK months after confirming the news. But the new condiment, which is a mixture of Heinz Ketchup and Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise, has a different name - instead it will be called “Saucy Sauce”. Trademark laws prevented Heinz from using the same name in Europe as another company already owns it. Heinz confirmed it would be bringing “Mayochup” to British shores back in March after a successful launch in the US last year. The table sauce was so popular stateside that “Mayomust” – mayonnaise and mustard – and “Mayocue” – you guessed it, mayo and barbecue sauce – soon followed. BRITS will spend the equivalent of 43 days of their life struggling to open troublesome packaging. A study of 2,000 UK adults found they spend 19 minutes a week trying to get into tricky packaging which is secured with too much tape, cable ties or even items which are screwed into place. And a sixth of Brits will spend more than half an hour of Christmas day trying to free their gifts of their annoying containers. Vacuum-packed plastic wrap and stuck jars are also among the packaging many find themselves struggling to open. But a sixth have even broken scissors or knives from being unable to get into difficult packaging, while as many as two-fifths have hurt themselves in their bid to unwrap something. Costco slashes the price of GIANT 2kg Quality Street tins to £8.40
WHOLESALE warehouse chain Costco has slashed the price of its giant 2kg tins of Quality Street – just in time for Christmas. The massive tub of sweets was originally priced at £11.62 but customers can now pick one up for £8.38. That marks a saving of £3.24 and a lot of chocolate to be stashed away ready for Christmas - or to be eaten now. The bargain buy was shared by one shopper on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group. Since then, customers in Southampton, Cardiff and London have replied to the post saying they've also been emailed about the mega tins. But it appears the deal is only available in stores, as the online price for the 2kg Quality Street tub is £14.89, which is £6.51 more expensive.This Costco deal is the cheapest price we've found for the 2kg tins, with the next best price coming in from Amazon at £13.35. HOME Bargains shoppers looking to spread some festive cheer to their furry friends can now buy pet beds that look like Christmas trees and puddings. The adorable beds are guaranteed to fill your cat or dog with Christmas cheer, as well as keeping them warm and cosy.
