ANDREW Lincoln has finally confirmed he's leaving The Walking Dead - as fans prepare for season 9 of the hit TV show. Since the very first episode of the hit AMC zombie apocalypse show, Andrew, 44, has been the driving force of the action and drama in his role as Deputy Sheriff-turned-zombie slayer Rick Grimes. But he's now moving on to pastures new, announcing the news to fans at the San Diego Comic Con on Friday. Andrew said: "There seems to be an elephant in the room and I think many of you want to ask a question whether or not it is my last year. "This will be my last season playing the part of Rick Grimes. “I love this show, it means everything to me. I love the people who make this show. Andrew Lincoln, the main star of "The Walking Dead," is reportedly leaving the show after Season 9, according to ComicBook.com citing multiple sources. And Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, may not be the only cast member to exit. Several other cast members are also in the final years of their contract, including "Black Panther" star Danai Gurira, who has played Michonne since Season 3. Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, is only contracted to appear in six episodes in Season 9, which is currently in production. ComicBook.com said it's still unclear how Lincoln will be written off.
